Everything is cheap compared to KC area. But a family of 4 is not surviving off 38k without assistance. That’s not middle class lol

My city/county recruiters pull a lot of lower income to lower middle class (<$100k household). My suburb recruiters get a little higher income bracket but nothing crazy ($100-250k)

Most people don’t realize how hard it is to get into the military. People will try and use it as a fall back plan, but the reality is that joining is a long process, and most people don’t qualify.

@dmbkparker @wbridgefa Only about 1/3rd of enlisted stay in past their first 10 years. I would wager these older recruits are more likely the lower end of that too. When 66-80% of these older recruits are in for one contract, lock in veteran benefits and leave, it’s a pretty safe deal for us and them.

@wbridgefa @dmbkparker This is it! In my opinion, COVID flipped the script and the recruits in their late 30s we’ve been enlisting are outperforming the 18-21 year olds. We’re not so desperate we’re willing to take on older applicants; the 35-42 year olds are simply better quality recruits 🤷‍♂️
