@vibeonX69 macOS is for wealthy people with bondage and praise kinks. They buy Apple for status symbol, then let it lock them down and tell them what they're allowed to do when they're alone with it at night.

@TeaAndDates Uploading my private files to your servers by default, without asking first, is NOT best practice. The first system I bought that did this temporarily locked my Microsoft account because it immediately filled up my account's storage. Keep it as an option, just make it opt-in.

@Majoraslayer When it comes to backups like OneDrive, we default to the best behavior for most users (no data loss) but definitely make sure it's configurable. Working on the ads and looking at the thin taskbar! And improving updates is a big part of what we announced, so...getting there?

@TeaAndDates Turn OneDrive off by default. Stop changing my settings/bootloaders with updates. Leave my files alone, untouched by AI and private unless I choose otherwise. Get rid of ads in the OS, and return the thin taskbar from Windows 10 (while using small icons). Then, I just might ;)

@TailosiveTech For now, at least until enshittification hits. I've been paying for Premium since 2016 (YT/Play Music is a huge plus). The day I see an ad because their policies or tiers change is the day they can fuck right off of my budget.

@Techjunkie_Aman @BannedPentaYay1 Since OP never responsed, I'll chime in and say I'm on the edge of switching back myself. I archive old analog media, and I can't get OBS Studio to work without audio sync issues. The same settings, same hardware works perfectly under Windows.

CachyOS is basically Arch Linux on steroids. Instead of using normal builds, it’s made specifically for your CPU. So everything runs smoother. • x86-64-v3 / v4 optimized packages • Zen4 instruction tuning • LTO + PGO + BOLT optimizations • custom kernel with tuned EEVDF scheduler • optional schedulers (BORE, BMQ, RT, sched-ext) • 17+ desktop environments (KDE, GNOME, Hyprland, i3, XFCE…) It also has: • custom performance kernel • lots of desktop options (KDE, GNOME, etc.) • easy installer (no complicated setup) No tweaking. No coding. Just install and enjoy speed

@Shivam25mishra Ubuntu is pretty good if you never update it. Fedora is good if you really want to learn what package hell is, since half the projects on GitHub only come pre-compiled with a .deb. It also HATES your Nvidia driver. Mint, in my opinion, is the best balanced for beginners.

If you mute an account it’s really permanent. You’re never going to find that account again to undo it. It’s like blocking but with no record, no list to check.

@WindowsLatest Hell no we aren't "back". I want to see Windows 11 improve, but it needs a LOT more than this short list of vague proposals. All signs point to Microslop still refusing to make the changes it actually needs. That would require openly admitting the mistakes they've made.

WE'RE SO BACK! Windows is so back. Today, Microsoft officially confirmed it's making Windows 11 a better operating system. This is a great news for consumers, competition, and of course Microsoft. In 2026, Microsoft will focus on its plans to "raise the bar on Windows 11 quality." It'll focus on performance, reliability and well-crafted experiences. These areas have meaningful impact on how you experience Windows: how fast it starts and responds, how stable it is under real workloads, and how consistent and thoughtful the experience feels - Microsoft "The team and I have spent a great deal of time analyzing your feedback. What came through was the voice of people who care deeply about Windows and want it to be better," said Windows boss Pavan Davuluri, who deeply cares about your feedback. Moreover, Microsoft is scaling back Copilot in Windows 11 after feedback to focus on: 1. Faster and more responsive Windows experiences, including reductions in apps like File Explorer 2. Improved memory efficiency, lowering the baseline memory footprint for Windows, freeing up more capacity for the apps you run. 3. More consistent performance, even under load, so apps stay responsive throughout the day.

BREAKING: Microsoft confirms a major Windows 11 release that focuses on performance, reliability, bug fixes, and bids goodbye to forced Windows Updates + unwanted Copilot integration! Microsoft is seriously and sincerely improving Windows 11 by listening to top feedbacks: - Movable taskbar confirmed. - You can now pause Windows Updates for as long as you want. No forced shutdown/reboot when updates paused. - Windows Update is moving PCs to a single monthly reboot. - Faster File Explorer, reduced memory footprint, faster Windows Search, better OS performance, and other bug fixes - Scaling back Copilot in Windows 11, start with apps like Notepad - Moving Windows core experience to WinUI (native framework), dropping WebView/React in features like the Start menu - Fewer notifications (disruptions), improved drivers, and more. How do you want Microsoft to improve Windows 11? 👇

@pavandavuluri I've not been able to trust Windows since the Recall rollout, and CoPilot integrating with my PERSONAL DOCUMENTS. Maybe give us a killswitch for the AI, respect user privacy, leave OneDrive sync off by default, drop all the ads for more paid features and RESPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS.

Read this blog post to learn more about what we're doing in response as we look to raise the bar on Windows 11 quality. @pavandavuluri @max77sabers This was one of the things I immediately hated most about Windows 11. I have to use ExplorerPatcher to keep from dealing with that big, ugly taskbar. It's one of many points that made Windows 11 feel like a move backwards.

@Pirat_Nation I saw the Windows Insider email. That list of improvements needs to be a LOT bigger. Stopping cramming it with unwanted crap like OneDrive and ads for Office is notably missing. Those have pissed off users almost as much as the AI push (which they also aren't abandoning).

Microsoft's Windows chief Pavan Davuluri announced today that the company is focusing on major improvements to Windows 11, driven by user feedback. The planned changes include: - Faster File Explorer launch times - Lower overall memory usage - Fewer crashes and blue screens - More reliable wake-from-sleep behavior - Ability to move the taskbar to any screen edge - Less intrusive updates with improved pause options - Reduced notification clutter and "noise" - Scaling back unnecessary Copilot integrations in apps "These improvements will start previewing for Windows Insiders in the coming weeks."

@its_t_train @greatestbkfacts Except when it isn't. Sometimes there are only instructions to install via terminal using git, build commands, and prayer that you can find the build dependencies you're missing. *Usually* easy enough for a power user, but I wouldn't expect a casual user to figure that shit out.

@greatestbkfacts It's the releases button/section on the right. ITS ONE FUCKING BUTTON NAMED RELEASES. Then *poof*, you get all the builds for all public versions. You iphone retards were coddled with only ever having one way to do anything that your brain doesn't understand learning.
