@EricSpracklen This 'skit' is heartless, crass and blasphemous, that's the only thing it proves. Your post about it proves that you, too, are heartless, crass and blasphemous. Until I saw this post quoted I didn't know who you were. Won't have to see you be trash again, thankfully.

@sourpatchlyds @sola_chad That sounds very Catholic of them lol. The other day I said 'that's why Sola Scriptura is so important' to an Eastern Orthodox and she told me that Sola Scriptura is dangerous because we need the true church to explain what it means.

@MaxNordau Mohammed and the men of al-Zutt فَجَعَلُوا يَرْكَبُونَ رَسُولَ اللَّه ﷺ They began to ride the Messenger of God ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّه ﷺ جَاءَ ثَقِيلًا وَجِعًا مِمَّا رَكِبُوهُ Then the Messenger of God came back weighed down and in pain from how they had ridden him

@TheCinesthetic This is one of a handful of movies I went into the theater with high expectations and left exclaiming that it sucked and it was disappointing. I still feel that way but I can respect the visuals, they're impressive.

Sucker Punch was released 15 years ago. It was Zack Snyder’s first film based on an original idea rather than an existing comic or adaptation, giving him full control over the story and visual style.

I'm just about to hop on a plane and head to Washington, D.C., to lead a VIP tour of the Dead Sea Scroll exhibit at the @museumofBible. My colleagues along with the museum's Chief Curatorial officer, Dr. Bobby Duke, will then give a series of lectures related to the Bible, its manuscripts, texts, and canon history. We're also showcasing the museum's new Dead Sea Scrolls documentary along with the world premiere of episode 3 of "Can I Trust the Bible?" series. This past season, I have been incredibly privileged to publicly express my personal convictions regarding my faith and study. I never imagined nor sought out the public platforms that I've been able to be part of. That attention has been humbling but also quite overwhelming. Despite being continually labelled "the expert," I am far from it! I have the privilege to work with genuine experts, individuals whose knowledge and craft surpass mine by country miles. I am merely a life-long student gleaning from others and excitedly telling those I have the occasion to share with. Don't let the podcast titles like "number 1 Christian expert" fool you, I'm pretty low on the food chain compared to those who have the privilege to study formally. I'm not claiming to be the voice of "mainstream critical scholarship," the consensus of my field, or any other grandiose title; merely the voice of myself. I would appreciate your prayers for the coming months. Though I've posted here and there I've been somewhat off the grid lately due to personal and academic commitments that required focused, solitary devotion. I am convinced that so many things have come together solely due to God's timing and provision. Nonetheless, I have daunting academic and personal commitments approaching that require significant concentration and the removal of distractions. The emotional whiplash of so many people reaching out and expressing thanks combined with the scrutiny the limelight brings has not always been easy. But I am thankful to God for His provision and strength. “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore,Therefore I will boast all the more in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me." - Corinthians 12:9-10

@CbirdArcher @jenanamericngal You didn't say Trevor called Ashley a whore (he didn't), you said he exposed her as one, your word choice. You also made this statement out of the same prideful ignorance as the tools at DW. Ashley's own testimony has been public for YEARS. He exposed nothing.

@MiMuFPV @jenanamericngal You caught me Michael I said it wasn't very Christian to expose your wife's promiscuous past to win an internet argument and act holier than thou. That's clearly the "fetish" she's talking about.

Virginity should be honored, but it doesn’t make you more righteous before Christ. Sexual sin isn’t the unpardonable sin, & it’s not exclusive to women. Some of you show more grace to murderers than to former adulteresses though you’re guilty of the same.

@CbirdArcher @jenanamericngal You realize the 'fetish' Sabrina is calling out is the obsession that some men, you included (I checked) have with calling Ashley a whore for her past in spite of her present... and then profess to be Christian. My bible doesn't say forgive one another... but call her a whore.

@ChristinaPushaw @Elliesmommyy23 You could have just said: "I know nothing about the original story or these people but I'm going to bloviate anyway!" He wrote 500 words, the first 5 word sentence was "My wife was formerly promiscuous" Her story / testimony have been public for years.

Besides the gender swapped, there are 2 big differences here that suggest it may not just be a double standard: 1) he is sharing his own story. his wife isn’t sharing the intimate details of his past with a photo of him and contrasting it with her own past. 2) his past sins are public and on the record for anyone to see, because he was a p0rn star. When one’s past is public like that, it makes more sense for one’s testimony about it to be shared with the public as well; the testimony does not release previously unknown info into the world. Whereas for someone whose past sins were not public like that, it seems kind of immodest to reveal them to the world. And one can easily imagine their kids’ classmates finding out and bullying them over it, when that didn’t need to be the case.

This is getting annoying. Not one person has made this argument. No one is telling any of you to a marry anyone. It’s easier for you guys to switch the subject and argue a moot point rather than contend with the actual topic.
Big Rush@BigTimeRush1776

@jenanamericngal Jesus saved the promiscuous woman in Luke 7 he didn't encourage his followers to marry her. It's so out of the ordinary to marry a promiscuous woman God had to command Hosea individually to marry one. Young men/women should be encouraged to marry non-promiscuous individuals.

"Christians these days often tend to be far too eager to tell the entire world about their past sins, which in most cases shows a lack of discretion and a certain lack of the sort of shame one should feel even for repented sins." When you have your sins forgiven, Matt, you want to tell the whole world about how Jesus has forgiven you. You want to let others know that there is hope for them too if they would repent and turn to Jesus.
Matt Walsh@MattWalshBlog

My take on the current discourse about the Christian man with the formerly “promiscuous” wife is that many of the comments towards the man and his wife have been uncharitable, cruel, and certainly un-Christian, but also that Christians these days often tend to be far too eager to tell the entire world about their past sins, which in most cases shows a lack of discretion and a certain lack of the sort of shame one should feel even for repented sins. Also, as a parent, I strongly believe that you generally should avoid telling your kids about your own wayward youth, because the kids will take such stories as an indication that they too can go off and have fun sinning and things will turn out okay, just as they did for you. Also you undermine your own moral authority when you instruct your children not to do the very things you have admitted to having done yourself. Finally, the man’s line about how his wife “is more pure than most virgins” is prideful and shows a kind of competitiveness and vanity that should simply not ever appear in any Prodigal Son style testimony. Imagine if the Prodigal Son had returned and announced himself not only repentant but “more pure” than the brother who stayed? It would kind of destroy the point of the story. So in summary I basically disagree with everyone on this.

James Talarico... you can't love your neighbors and abort them. If you wouldn't want to be poisoned and dismembered, then why do you support that option for babies? You cannot love your neighbors and support the destruction of their bodies via wrong sex hormones, puberty blockers, and double mastectomies. The gender-deceived kid who was illegally rendered permanently sterile is your neighbor. You can't love your neighbor and support the infiltration of illegal foreign criminals who will kill them. Jocelyn Nungary, a teen who was murdered by two illegals in Houston, was your neighbor. You can't love your neighbor and call for the abolition of prisons, which you have, James Tallarico. Jacqueline Wilson was a Houston mom of four, 32 years old. She was reportedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend who was released from prison by a progressive judge despite being a violent offender. She was your neighbor. You can't love your neighbor and deny the gospel that saves their souls as you have so many times when you've asserted that all religions point to the same truth that Jesus points to. You can't love your neighbor and support the chaos that kills them. You can't love your neighbor and lie to them. You can't love your neighbor and affirm sin. You can't love your neighbor while hating the things that God hates and loving the things that satan loves and you do. You are an insult to Christianity. Your beliefs are an affront to the Imago Dei and I look forward to Texans showing you out of politics in November and hopefully you are shown out of the pulpit as well.

@TheQuartering Probably. To be fair the trailer doesn't look awful and Nick Frost is S-tier casting as Hagrid. However, I don't think I can forgive the casting of someone described as: “... greasy, black, shoulder‑length hair, a hooked nose, and sallow skin.”
