@NixonandIke @catholicpat Those aren’t sources, they’re names. A source is a book, a written record, a photograph of actual inscriptions or some other proof of that source. A person is only a source as an eyewitness, which for ancient history is impossible.

I’ve seen states (e.g. Louisiana) require phonics as the method of early reading instruction. I’m woefully unfamiliar with the research literature in this area. Is phonics instruction the most successful method at teaching children to read on average? What are the alternatives?

I would imagine it is mostly due to academics early on and shifts towards financial concerns as students progress - this would help me to think through aid instruments that could be targeted later.

Don't buy into this "Dems hate Catholics" stuff. It is a bald-faced lie. Republicans have never nominated a Catholic for President. 2 of the last 4 Democratic nominees for President have been Catholic. The ONLY Catholic President in American history (JFK) was a Democrat.

@HUHonors Dr. James was one of the earliest examples I experienced of what makes @HardingU professors unique - he cared about and trusted students, including myself, and gave us the resources we needed to develop. He will be missed, but he also trained up the next generation to lead.
