@DanNeidle @Heccles94 I do think Britain's tax rates top out at too low an income level. Perhaps we could do something like higher rates on very high incomes to pay for removing the phase-out of the personal allowance or the child care phase-outs, things like that.

@Noahpinion My own experience with chronic pain changed my mind on this. Mine wasn’t to the level that I’d want MAID, but I could 100% see how incurable daily pain could get to that level. I think it’s wrong to keep people trapped in that involuntarily.

Being an elected Republican has a few key tradeoffs that you have to make. One of them is that you have to work in a city that simply doesn’t like you. Washington, DC is D+84, and Little Rock, AR is D+39. Educated people and government employees do not like Republicans. (Even *Little Rock* is more educated than the nation, at 42% undergrad and 18% grad. The national rates are 35% and 14%, respectively).
