@thechosenberg I think SAHM is great until they get in school. Then they can go part time and contribute but still have plenty time for the kids. In this economy that is what worked best for me.

@reddit_lies Adoption is a beautiful thing. Many couples can’t have babies but they do not want an older child who has been through the foster system and has mental issues. I also agree with government assistance. If my tax dollars go to something, let it be this until he gets on his feet.

@PNWConservative The real problem is - Income Taxes are based on INCOME - most "rich" people don't have a day job with an hourly salary. They have all sorts of ways to decrease their taxable income. Middle Class taxpayers do not have such luxuries. I'm a FAIR TAX or FLAT TAX proponent.

Can anyone tell me what a “fair” tax on the “rich” is? I still can’t get a straight answer. Is it 30%? Is it 50%? Is it 90%? And what would be considered “rich”?

@AviThak00380756 @thechosenberg Also the rare times I need code for automation like python or powershell, I do use AI. It’s good to know how to understand it but the long hard part writing it has been simplified.

@AviThak00380756 @thechosenberg There is an interview style now where they test a programmer to basically do the job of 5-10 people with the use of AI. I’m in IT/engineering but I’m not a programmer. It is well known code is being written by AI now to speed it up and require less people.

@rushicrypto Tech and the whole market is very fragile right now. Making 260k and if you can be replaced, company just won. That’s not an easy job to replace. 80-120k job is more realistic to replace so he was living outside means with no good net.

A guy I used to work with hit me up last night. Dude was making $260k in tech. Nice house, $4,700/month mortgage, two cars, vacations every few months. Got laid off 7 months ago. Still nothing. Said he’s down to $22k and burning $5,500 a month. Wife at home, one kid. He told me he checks his bank app before he even gets out of bed now. This is someone I saw winning in real life. Save your money. Because when it flips, it flips fast.

@HazelAppleyard I have phones for me, wife and kids. All locations are shared but only me and wife can see but yes ours is shared to each other. Besides trust it also works if your phone is lost or stolen. Everybody has their own boundaries though and I respect that.

I would not mind being tracked by a partner as it would make me feel safer, personally. But insisting on tracking someone who doesn’t want it? Hard no.

@ewarren A congress who controlled spending and corruption would not need to keep asking for more taxes. You have been given X amount of dollars to use. If you miss that budget you should be fired. That’s how the real world works, not government.

@DesireeAmerica4 50 eggs… I’m not going through the whole list but wow. Why do people enable it? I would tell my kid no. You can eat reasonable portions and that’s not 50 eggs plus all the rest. She probably ate more calories in an hour than I an adult man eats in a week.
