I just met a patriotic @TSA officer going through security who told me she just missed her second paycheck because of the Democrat shutdown of @DHSgov. She also thanked me and @HouseGOP for voting to fund DHS and asked me to push the Senate to do their job. She told me that she and her fellow TSA colleagues, who have been unfairly caught in the middle of this political fight, fully support their DHS colleagues at ICE and their mission. On behalf of this TSA officer and others like her, I call on Senate Democrats to put politics aside when the United States is engaged in hostilities abroad, do their job, protect the American people, and vote to fully fund DHS and pay our terrific TSA officers.

Honored to take the oath to join @SarHeadquarters tonight. I named my son after American Revolution hero Nathan Hale. Right before he was executed by the British for spying at the orders of General George Washington, Hale famously said, "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.” I will always fight for our nation and to honor our founding fathers.

I want to congratulate my friend, Judge Greg Van Tatenhove on his appointment as the new Dean of the University of Kentucky Rosenberg College of Law. As an alumnus of the College, I am thrilled that Judge Van Tatenhove will be stepping into this role. He has been an outstanding Judge for the Eastern District of Kentucky and he will no doubt leverage his substantial experience in government, private practice and the federal judiciary to lead the law school into the future and cultivate the next generation of attorneys, judges, lawmakers and business leaders for the Commonwealth.
