@ReshoreNow

Our mission is to bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S. by helping companies assess total cost of offshoring, and shift thinking to ‘local reduces cost.’

@michael_stumo Agreed, Michael. We need a broad range of industries and tech levels. Workers can start in low to medium, gain skills and progrees to the high end. For some workers, hiigh end is not feasible.

Important point for the USA also. Non-sexy manufacturing is where the volume of workers, firms and production are. Productivity increases come from there with constant improvement. So does supply chain resiliency. Urban media and politicians ignore this but shouldn’t.

1/5 The FT makes an important point that is often forgotten. While the focus in China has mainly been on the glamorous, high tech end of industry – including the so-called "new productive forces" – this isn't where much of the Chinese economy operates. ft.com/content/84ac95…

@Noahpinion 1. U.S. companies are too short-term 2. U.S. mfg. capacity utilization has stayed mostly in the low 70%s due to loss of work to offshore. Investment surges around 80% 3. U.S. mfg. cost is 40% higher than China's. The difference is too great to justify investment. Need TCO.

@ReshoreNow A6) Great question! As a consumer, research your area to discover which local manufacturers you can support with your business. Manufacturers in turn should participate more in local events to bring greater visibility. #USAMfgHour

A2) There needs to be more self-reliance for the USA for those countries tied up in the geopolitical tension. If the US relied on itself, many issues would evaporate. The catch: we need a trained, driven industrial workforce FOR self-reliance. #USAMfgHour
