@EsotericCD Legitimate question as someone who followed him a bit since he was a congressman: it seems like a lot of conservatives like DeSantis in theory and when he is governor. But then donors and voters meet him and are like… meh. Will that be attractive to Republicans in 2028?

Everyone’s telling me Georgia Democrats will win by 7 or 8 points and may I remind you it’s still Georgia.
That being said they are the favorites for every statewide race at this point.

Georgia law is abundantly clear on special elections: the governor has 10 days to declare the seat vacant and an election must be held no later than 60 days thereafter.
This seat will be filled by the end of the summer.

Rest in power, Chairman David Scott. Incredibly sad for his family, loved ones, staff, and everyone he inspired. I’m also sad for the people of #GA13, who will most likely be without a Rep. for months. As we saw with #TX18, Republican govs will run out the clock on filling dem seats, leaving us down a vote in Congress. It’s hard to talk about, but age has real impacts on representation and our ability to fight back against Trump.

With our @CookPolitical rating changes following the Virginia referendum's passage, the median House seat is now getting dangerously close to Lean Democrat.
