Donald Trump’s racist mass deportation agenda has had a direct and devastating impact on Iranians, and on immigrant communities across this country. As he said “help is on the way” to the Iranian people, his administration enacted a travel ban, deported asylum seekers — including gay Iranians and Christian converts — back to the Islamic Republic’s brutal regime, sent others to third countries in Africa, and locked many more away in ICE detention centers. I’ve met Iranians in ICE custody who fled the Woman, Life, Freedom movement seeking safety and refuge in the United States after risking everything to stand up to a dictatorship. One woman told me she’s endorsed “physical and psychological torture” at the hands of ICE and that she’ll “never be the same.” Their stories are a reminder that Trump’s cruelty knows no borders. He does not care about immigrants, human rights, or the Iranian people. He cares about one thing: himself and his family’s enrichment.

Also today: Trump said he told Iranian officials “you won’t even make it back to your fu*king country” if they close the Strait, and floated the US as “Guardian Angel” of Hormuz, taking 20% of the oil. He also said he’d “blow the sh*t out of them” and take tolls in the Strait. Then he posted on Truth Social demanding Iran “immediately stop their highly paid PROXIES in Lebanon from causing trouble,” threatening to hit Iran “very hard again… only harder!!!” if they don’t.

Trump told Leslie Stahl something years ago that everyone should hear. She asked Trump he kept calling the media fake news. He said, I do it because I need to discredit you, so that when you say negative things about me, nobody believes you. That is EXACTLY what he’s done. The problem everyone has with him is that most of us grew up with values, ethics, and integrity. That is not Donald Trump.
