We don't know who's saying it, but the phrase is inherently suspect and we shouldn't trust it. Kinda like how HW never had us defend Ishgard from a horde of red Hraesvelgers.

@__C_a_l_e_b__ @Actually_Tina @ritostime But, however excellent or execrable each film is on its own merits, in regards to the trilogy, or as part of SW, the biggest sin was not planning the overall narrative for the trilogy, just winging it, which is why TLJ solved TFA in its own way, then ROS took back what TLJ did.

@__C_a_l_e_b__ @Actually_Tina @ritostime The major issue with JJ "Mystery Box" Abrams is when he's part of an ongoing saga, because he'll just come up with said box, neglect to plot a solution, then leave it for the next person to figure out, no clues, no direction, nothing. Even Luke's arc is more his fault than RJ's.

You can hate on the sequels being dogshit all you want(they r) but I recognise someone actually having a decent opinion if they realise the best movie of the trash trilogy is TLJ especially when it's the only one with decent pacing btw.

It's not toxic masculinty. It's just Ranma taking advantage of eating things that would be considered too cute or girly as a teenager in 1980s Japan. He also exploits his female form constantly because he knows he can get free things and passes as a girl-

trying to watch an urusei yatsura movie and unlike old ranma, it's weird in a more interesting way.... but like old ranma, it's so slow and atmospheric that the gag humor seems out of place when it shows up. there's also waaaay too much screentime given to annoying ocs

@plazynoodles I mentioned it elsewhere, but this is exactly what Tolkien meant by allegory vs applicability and why he prefers the latter. We'll never know what Takahashi "intended". but, in the long run, what matters is the the value and meaning that readers draw from the *text*.

@mindpa1ace @misizuua We may never know what messages Takahashi *intended*, but what the text itself *says* to the reader, in its own merits, has worth. An author like Tolkien, in his own words, would encourage the audience of R1/2 to find their own value and meaning in interpretations like these.

Calling him "she" means you ascribe a female identity to his other form, which WOULD mean f!Ranma has a female identity, ergo, transfemme, and your argument is kaput.
