Classic Home Depot trip. Went in for one thing, blacked out, and walked out empty-handed except for a case of limited-edition King of the Hill WD-40 cans and a sudden sense of purpose.
My entire holiday shopping for the next year is officially done. Every guy I know is getting one for Christmas, Father’s Day, and the mandatory "congratulations on surviving another week without accidentally setting yourself on fire, you dumbass" intervention.

Bro, this is actually insane. In Chiba Prefecture, someone stole copper cables and brass valves from a drainage pump station. Because of that, water stopped flowing to the rice fields right after planting, and the paddies completely dried up and cracked. These are the rice fields that produce Japan’s staple food. Metal theft like this has been increasing a lot in recent years, and it’s no coincidence that it started happening more after the government began bringing in large numbers of foreign workers through programs like the Technical Intern Training Program and Specified Skilled Worker system. They steal valuable metals to sell for scrap, and the damage ends up hitting Japanese farmers and food production. We’re letting people into the country who end up destroying the infrastructure that feeds us, all while politicians keep saying we need more foreign labor because of “labor shortages.” This is what happens when you prioritize cheap foreign workers over protecting your own country’s agriculture and security.
