if you keep voting in the same people, time and time again, or their cohorts, when your local area/state/whatever just keeps getting worse and worse, i probably will think you're a moron. if you can't break out of the partisanship, you're probably part of the problem.

@elonmusk You guys would defend the cross burning if it was done by the KKK as freedom of expression. So now it's a problem when it was done by an autistic anti-Trump kid?

@nypost Shorty turned a neo-Nazi into an SPLC informant? Okay that's actually pretty based. Not sure what the problem here is - unless you are a right wing retard.

Congressional Republicans’ devastating cuts to food assistance could lead to 1,200 unnecessary and avoidable deaths in New Hampshire. People will go hungry because of their actions. It’s despicable.

SpaceX stock is up $100 billion today In one day. And you're telling me Elon Musk can't pay a $100 billion annual wealth tax to the European Union? It's literally just one day of wages for him. Tax Elon Musk NOW.

@kenabi @ArneyJim @BernieSanders You spend more time defending the guy than normal. Like I said: can't even get to the Moon. So... not likely to get to Mars, which is WAY harder. Taste my schtick, honey.

@kenabi @ArneyJim @BernieSanders He didn't reach Mars either, did he? Too bad he promised to do so in 2022... It is dickriding to lie for a charlatan. Conquered victim-mentality. Very servile.

@jjh875 @JeffereyJaxen supposedly, the point was to make a vaccine. thats what gain of function does. try to make pathogens worse so they can make vaccines/etc that will also handle the lesser variants it just got loose. and they did everything to cover that up, while they could feasibly do so.

Unclassified 2021 DARPA briefing document to the Department of Defense: "1. SARS-CoV-2 is an American-created recombinant bat vaccine, or its precursor virus. It was created by an EcoHealth Alliance program at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), as suggested by the reporting surrounding the lab leak hypothesis." ⬇️

@DebRusso2733 @BernieSanders @grok and he was a shitty activist, who has done shitty activist things from a soapbox since he was elected to office, wherein he's accomplished pretty much jack shit that is a direct result of _him_. he's also one of the biggest hypocrites in congress over this oligarchy bullshit.

Bernie Sanders held several non-government jobs before entering full-time elected office in 1981, primarily in his 20s and 30s. These included: • Carpenter (union carpenter in Vermont, doing odd jobs and home improvements; described by associates as intermittent and not highly skilled). • Head Start teacher (preschool teacher for a federal anti-poverty program in New York). • Psychiatric aide (at a hospital in New York). • Freelance writer and journalist (articles for alternative papers like The Vermont Freeman). • Filmmaker/educational media producer (director of the nonprofit American People’s Historical Society; created and sold low-budget “radical film strips” and educational materials on history and social issues to schools). • Brief/earlier roles: Organizer with the United Packinghouse Workers of America (while in Chicago) and some research or registration work for state/nonprofit entities (e.g., Vermont Department of Taxes, food stamps outreach). These were often part-time, freelance, or unstable gigs while he ran unsuccessful campaigns as an independent/Liberty Union Party candidate in the 1970s. He lived modestly (“one step above hand to mouth”) and did not have a long, steady “9-5” private-sector career before politics. On net worth accumulated as a public servant (paid by taxpayers): Sanders has been in elected office continuously since 1981—first as mayor of Burlington (1981–1989), then U.S. Representative (1991–2007), and U.S. Senator (2007–present). His salary has been taxpayer-funded throughout (mayoral pay, then congressional salaries starting around $100k+ and now ~$174k as a senator). Estimates of his net worth have varied: • Around $500k–$1M+ in the mid-2010s (per financial disclosures). • Rose to ~$2–$2.5M+ by the late 2010s/early 2020s, driven heavily by book deals after his 2016 presidential run (e.g., Our Revolution generated hundreds of thousands to over $800k in royalties in peak years; total book income for him and his wife exceeded $2M+ in some periods). • Recent estimates (around 2023–2026) hover in the $2M–$3M range, including real estate (multiple homes in Vermont and D.C.), investments, pensions, and savings. Much of the growth occurred while he was a public servant, via: • Steady government salary + pensions (federal + mayoral; he could draw ~$73k/year federal pension + smaller city one). • Real estate appreciation and home-related investments (he and his wife bought/upgraded properties over decades). • Post-2016 book royalties and related income (not direct taxpayer salary, but enabled by his public profile). His pre-1981 net worth was low (modest assets, some debt). The bulk of his current wealth was built or significantly increased during 40+ years on the public payroll, supplemented by books and investments later in life. He has defended this by noting book earnings as a legitimate way to build wealth.
