Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL) announced she's resigning from Congress moments before the House Ethics Committee was set to determine whether she should be sanctioned for allegations tied to a campaign finance scheme. She has been charged by the DOJ with allegedly stealing $5 million in FEMA funds for her campaign and faces 15 criminal counts. She has also pleaded not guilty and denies wrongdoing. Investigators also allege campaign funds were used for personal luxury expenses.
