10 years ago today, one of the greatest the walking dead moments ever

The Pope needs a history lesson. "His rhetoric distances himself from both Catholic tradition and biblical tradition... It misunderstands the very premises of just war, which Catholic tradition... has always been grounded in." @ProvMagazine's @mlivecche

America is a serious country Serious countries don’t reward illegal immigration Automatic birthright citizenship for the children of illegal migrants rewards illegal immigration

I have a few comments on @USTradeRep's "Liberation Day" release. (Surprise!). 1. They say the trade deficit has decreased. Not so fast....(this chart is from their release)

Firing the Army chief of staff in the middle of a war is always a sign that things are going great

The problem with economists asking for a takesy-backsy on their predictions of tariff doom is that it implies they would have had favorable predictions about the tariffs had they known the full trajectory. Who thinks that, if you had told economists a year ago what was going to happen with tariffs, they would have said "sounds reasonable, growth will probably tick up and inflation down, manufacturing demand and productivity will rise and sentiment will improve"? Did I miss all of the economists who have been saying since June that now the tariff level looks OK? The reality is they missed even on the basic mechanisms: the dollar didn't appreciate; the retaliation didn't occur; the administration successfully leveraged tariffs into favorable deals and commitments. Of course the models spit out the wrong answer. Yes, it's embarrassing for a field when confident predictions fail. But it's way more embarrassing when the reaction of practitioners to the failure is to deny a problem exists.

In advance of the upcoming general conference leadership session (April 2, 2026), The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced upcoming adjustments to the Sunday class meeting schedule to support members in their efforts to be lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. The adjustments will strengthen gospel learning in homes and congregations throughout the world. Beginning September 6, 2026, the alternating weekly schedule for Sunday School and quorum or class meetings will be replaced. Under the updated schedule: • Sunday School, Relief Society, elders quorum, Young Women and Aaronic Priesthood quorum meetings will be held each week. • Sacrament meeting will continue to be 60 minutes, followed by brief transition periods. • Sunday School and quorum and class meetings will each be 25 minutes. • Primary will continue every Sunday and will be 55 minutes, held while adults and youth attend their respective classes. • Where local circumstances necessitate, units may begin with Primary and quorum and class meetings and conclude with sacrament meeting. Visit the link below to learn more: Newsroom.ChurchOfJesusChrist.org/article/change…

Make sacrament 1 talk and give more time back to the classes.
