I am GenX and have never seen this movie. I grew up watching the original show every day after school, I couldn't understand why a remake would be worth my time. Is it?

@redheadranting Yes, you absolutely must see it, because every GenXers are in on every inside joke. It was literally made for us. It's beYOND camp, and it's a hilarious love letter to the Brady's and all that they meant to us.

@redheadranting They were pretty good. I used to watch the show too. I felt all the same things you felt I. Terms of why would they do this? Then someone gifted it to someone he knew, we watched it with her family and I was like, okay. This is pretty good. The sequel was too.

This movie and the sequel were GREAT parodies. They were obviously made by people who loved the originals and weren't trying to deconstruct them as a matter of cultural vandalism. If you liked how Galaxy Quest was a homage to Star Trek (and obviously like the Brady Bunch), you'll probably like these flicks!

@redheadranting It's more of a mockery... not only of the show but of the time the show first aired. They put a late 60s TV family in modern Los Angeles. It was a fun gag for one film... but they never should have made a sequel. Shelley Long was great.

@redheadranting I grew up watching the original and didn’t care for the idea of this movie at first, but because they made it into more of a satire it works better than many remakes.

@redheadranting It was funny at the time. I loved it. I was very into the 60s and 70s as a teen so I enjoyed it and I also watched the Brady bunch reruns when I was younger in the 80s. Marsha/Jan dynamic is perfect.

Ok, I'll say it. It was an incredibly stupid movie that should never have been made. There was an annoying trend aimed at Boomers in the mid 90's turning old tv shows into movies and most of them weren't very good. Other bombs were The Flintstones, The Little Rascals & The Beverly Hillbillies. There many other bad remakes then too.

@redheadranting It’s fantastic. It’s a 90s Gen X version of the Brady Bunch. As a parody of the 70s original. Satire and nostalgia all in one. Worth the watch.

@redheadranting It is horrifying that the Brady Bunch Movie was released 31 years ago in 1995, only 21 years after the original Brady Bunch series was cancelled in 1974. But yes, it was a funny parody with an excellent cast.

@redheadranting The whole thing is an abomination. People who say its a “tribute” or a “love letter” are full of shit. Its making fun of white people and white society it was meant to humiliate whites.

@redheadranting Eh, it's like the Bradys were taken out of the 70's and dropped into the 90's, and the Brady's didn't change, but everyone else did. It was ok to watch.
