Rescue operations for the downed F-15 pilot are continuing more American airforce recovery aircraft are being deployed from Europe as the search expands.

The American Pilot of an F-15E Strike Eagle that was rescued after his plane was downed over Southern Iran earlier today, was recovered by two U.S. military helicopters. During the operation, the helicopter carrying the recovered pilot was hit by small arms fire, wounding crewmembers onboard the helicopter. The helicopter landed safely. All servicemembers are receiving initial medical treatment and will be transported for further medical care, two U.S. officials told CBS News.
