Well, isn’t this ironic. Southern Poverty Law Center – the notorious far-left nonprofit that has spent decades targeting conservative and Christian organizations – was secretly funneling millions of dollars to extremist groups like the Ku Klux Klan. The Department of Justice indicted SPLC with counts of wire fraud, bank fraud, and money laundering. They misled thousands of donors into believing their contributions were going to fight violent extremist groups, when in fact the money was going directly to members of those groups – and setting up fake shell companies to cover their tracks. Great work by @FBIDirectorKash, @FBI, and @dojphofficial. Maybe progressive donors will think twice before writing checks to these clowns.
The Trump administration is waging a vindictive campaign against the organizations that safeguard our democracy. Weaponizing the DOJ to indict long-standing watchdogs is a message: if you defend voting rights, fight white supremacy, or protect civil rights, you’re next. This is an assault on the institutions that make freedom real for everyone. They will not succeed.

Virginia voters have spoken, and tonight they pushed back against a President who claims he is ‘entitled’ to more Republican seats in Congress. Today, a grand jury in Alabama returned an 11-count indictment charging the Southern Poverty Law Center with wire fraud, false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering. @splcenter stands accused of manufacturing and creating the very extremism it purports to oppose. Instead of dismantling extremism, @splcenter was funding it. I would like to thank our partners from @USAO_MDAL and @FBI for their incredible efforts in bringing this case. Hungarian elections bring positive news for EU enlargement. We will move forward with the €90 billion loan and hope that the Council will soon open all negotiations clusters with Ukraine and Moldova. Both countries are delivering on reforms. We’ll also discuss our relations with the South Caucasus. As instability in the world grows, the region has become Europe’s only land bridge to Asia.
