Crude oil traded above $200/bbl yesterday CnF Asia. If you think crude oil is going down is because you are looking at the Brent June and WTI May online video game for day gamblers. Refineries shutting down, flights being canceled due to jet fuel above $200/bbl.
This is not a commodities supercycle, this is a commodities shortage cycle.
Demand destruction.

That was 2008.
Global onshore crude stocks (ex-China) are now tracking below every year since 2022 — and accelerating lower:
📦 2020 peak: ~3,200 mbbl (COVID glut)
📦 2022: ~2,460 mbbl
📦 2024: ~2,295 mbbl
📦 2026 current path: ~2,065 mbbl
That’s a 1,100+ mbbl drain in 6 years.
Now add:
→ Strait of Hormuz closed
→ 9.1 mb/d in shut-in production
→ Strategic reserves already depleted post-2022
The buffer is gone.
$147 wasn’t a ceiling last time.
The world just ran out of the same cushion.
