In the classic ethics-textbook scenario, where everyone in the world has to press either a red button or a blue button and: (1) If 50+% of people pick blue, everybody lives, but... (2) If 50+% of people pick red, only red-pushers live.... Do you pick blue or red?

You create very risk you fear pressing red.

Pressing red just sabotages a chance to save everyone. the scenario is literally giving you a button that can guarantee everyone's survival and red would just sabotage it.

here's the last thing i'll say about the red/blue button debate. we now know that when polling ended, blue ended up winning. knowing this, isn't one going around trying to convince people to vote red unethical? absent of this proselytizing, people believe in a high trust society
