THIS STORY WILL BREAK YOUR HEART. Zidane's community in Kajuru has endured relentless attacks from terrorists since 2016. Over the past decade, more than a thousand people of Adara ethnic group have been slaughtered by terrorists, thousands more have been abducted, & millions paid as ransom. Through the course of this nightmare, not a single terrorist has been arrested, & no prosecution whatsoever. Most of the suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Adara chief in 2018 remain untried to this day. Frustrated by government’s inaction, Zidane & other young men chose to defend their communities against the marauders. Then the unthinkable happened! The immediate past government of Kaduna ordered a military manhunt of Zidane. He was eventually arrested & detained by the army, & tortured for over the course of a year. Then they bundled him to the police, where his torture continued for another three months, before he was finally arraigned in court. Zidane has been to two separate courts. One found him not guilty of murder, & he was discharged & acquitted in 2024. Then came the terrible blow. The second court sentenced him to death by hanging on the 7th of this January. Now this is where the story gets interesting. The suspects arrested for the abduction & the murder of Adara chief in 2018 (were arrested months before Zidane). And by the stroke of the miraculous, Zidane’s trial saw “eventful” conclusions in two separate courts that led to a conviction. But somehow, those hardened suspects, all from the same ethnic stock, are yet to see any courtroom. AMAZING, ISN’T? This is judgement, not justice! Of course, Zidane's lawyers are going to appeal. This is yet another victory for lawlessness, it’s another selective application of the law. It is now a disturbing reality, one rooted in abuse. There is a wicked precedent here: “Self-defense is now criminalized, while the terrorists are freed & rehabilitated. They now get away with mass murder. They are paid, pampered, & reintegrated back into society.” Katsina state just did that. They freed seventy terrorists & called it a “peace deal.” It’s open season for murder, full on terrorism, terror is now incentivized! The soldiers who paid (not only by blood to capture those ragtag militias, but by sweat; they feel terribly betrayed)! I will refresh our minds, in case we forgot: “His name is Victor Solomon, popularly called Zidane. He is a social activist from Adara ethnic group in Kajuru. Zidane has been sentenced to death by hanging (for daring to speak for his people against a bunch of ragtag militias k!lling & pillaging his community in Kaduna state.” Like Sunday Jackson, Victor is one of us…… He is another innocent sentenced to death by hanging. Lend your voice to this very important cause. Victor MUST be freed & reunited with his family immediately. SPREAD THE WORD!
