@TPayneCommon@ChrisCushman2 Even if the picture is real, the stuff there probably doesn't *belong* to Paramount or Skydance. It's likely the property of Secret Hideout.
@BallerToy1327 Damn shame Gary Graham died. If they can capture HALF of this quality in Star Trek United, Paramount Plus might actually make some money with @_MichaelSussman's talents!
Captain Archer your presence here has not been overly meddlesome. Shran: I think he likes you pink skin. #starTrekEnterprise#StarTrek One of my favorite episodes.
@DrInsensitive The TSA was ready to ease up on some restrictions. Little keychain knives were going to be allowed again. It was the flight attendants dealing with crappy customers that nipped that in the bud.
I will say what we all know: Confiscating our knives is pointless, because nobody can hijack an airplane with a knife anymore. We won't put up with it.
The 9-11 attacks only succeeded because we let them, and we let them because our government counseled cowardice.
"Let yourselves be robbed or hijacked," they told us. "It's safer, and that's the only thing matters. Afterwards, you can call the police."
But safety was not the only thing that mattered, and cowardice was not safer.
Nonetheless, our government still counsels cowardice in the name of safety. In my opinion, politicians do that because cowards are easier to rule.
My airline meal included this knife. I want to steal it and leave it in my carry-on.
The next time I fly, I will explain this to the TSA guy, so he will feel the full philosophical absurdity of his job.
@UAPReportingCnt Forget Christians. I'm WAY more worried about the shit-fit from a religion that goes on killing sprees when their "main guy" is drawn in a newspaper.
🚨 Rep. Tim Burchett claims the White House warned him: the truth about UFOs could be “anti-Christian” — and revealing it might shake religion to its core.
What are they afraid we’ll learn?
@BradRTorgersen@Shuttlecock It's the effects that are the problem. The film of the live-action set shots aren't an issue. They are still 35mm. It's re-doing all ship/space shots over again in modern programs that would be the problem. Maybe if the AI improves enough soon, it can make shorter work of it.
@Shuttlecock IIRC it's impossible because of the new format in which DS9 (and eventually VOY) were shot. There is no original 35mm film to go back to as a source.
If Paramount was smart, they’d commission HD remasters of Deep Space Nine and Voyager and release the episodes in broadcast order on a weekly basis
They’d get fresh content to keep P+ subscribers engaged for years while also reengaging the Star Trek fanbase.
Win-win. #StarTrek
@Shuttlecock This idea keeps getting re-hashed over and over. the long and short is there's no money in it. The long version is the visual effects shots were done on software made in the 90's for SD. There is no way to use the files for HD without re-writing the programs.
@greg16676935420 There are much shorter routes through that peninsula, but check the elevation. It is *extremely* rough terrain. Mountains. Much harder than the Panama Canal.
@bestofStarTrek I'll give it a C... Argument could be made for C+, but: Iffy makeup on the alien in the bar (his mask was unglued from his lip). Excelsior being a joke (a pinto sound effect when the engines failed). Weak, indecisive Captain Esteban of the Grissom.
@Simon_Ingari Let’s be real. If you turn down a 95% raise over hurt feelings, you aren’t a martyr. You’re just bad at math. No sensible person walks away from nearly double their salary to prove a point. Pride doesn’t pay the bills. Logic over emotions, always.

Employee: “Kindly accept my resignation.”
Boss: “But you’re doing such a great job! Why are you leaving?”
Employee: “I’ve received a new job offer with a 65% salary increase, and there’s also a guaranteed annual raise based on performance.”

@tanpukunokami Try some salty food with chocolate. A good one to start with is salty popcorn dipped in a little chocolate. Or M&M's with popcorn. It has a similar effect on bacon.
Bill Maher asks: If AI is so great, how come it hasn’t found a cure for cancer yet?
His oncologist guest replies: “We haven’t had enough time.”
But we all know if we actually found a cure for cancer, it would destroy a $250 billion/year cancer industry.
And we can’t have that.
