@AllenBogarty I think you're actually making the point I wanted to convey. What if the value that teams have created in terms of salary is disconnected from the "on-field value" just like market value of jobs is disconnected from value for society?

I've often used the same argument and would still use it. But how to counter this: Is a guy who sells insurances to people more valuable to society than a nurse? Most (including myself) would say no, but nevertheless we've created a society in which the nurse is paid less.

@coachtaylor__ Can take one late, and usually when they go unless it’s an elite pass rusher. Lee fits both but his lac of athleticism laterally concerns and doesn’t really allow a ton of stunt work which they thrive off. NT isn’t overly valuable unless it’s a Vita/Dexter type.

@KuhnTristen 100%. Would get out of position bc of lack of technique and over reliance on natural strength/athleticism off the snap, then once out of position gets washed down so easily if he doesn’t win right away

@12th_Raider Agree, really think it’ll work better back at 0 where he’s looked natural. He’s not overly athletic either, he relied on his strength and first step quickness but lacked through the rep at times. Hes raw but has upside

JJ Pegues was drafted at 309 pounds, after trimming down to play a more conventional 2-3/4i for Ole Miss in 2023/2024 (68 snaps combined) Was traditional 0/1 in 2022 (301 snaps) at 328 pounds and arguably played his best collegiate football. #Raiders bulked him up from 309 to 330 last season.

There’s a ton of time left on young careers—but as we sit here today, I would bet the Giants are very happy they got back into round 1 to get Dart and the Saints had wish they did that for Shough. Having the 5th year option is huge at QB.

Idgaf about what it would look like if the other 31 GMs were Trevor, I want a sim which attempts to be as predictive as possible with randomness which reflects the draft

@12th_Raider @NotionsofNick That’s why they have the slider so you can get different scenarios but I agree the randomness is set too low by default but it’s gonna be the same guys falling for every board without changing that.

PFF asked Trevor to do the job of 10+ people to maintain a year round Big Board for most to all Draft Prospects. A board they used for their highly successful Mock Draft Simulator. Trevor did all of this while covering the NFL for PFF as well. PFF NFL Draft Coverage is cooked.

Im actually surprised they haven't tried to extend Mayer, dude is perfect for this offense and is going to make an impact this year. Price is just gonna go up. Lock him in for another 2-3yrs and have the best TE tandem through Brocks rookie contract

@12th_Raider @RollPhillyDawgz I’m not over the moon about Howell but I can see him winning more ways than Thomas. His length will impact his ability to finish plays. One edge rusher I’ve warmed up to is Zion Young. Seems like he’s the guy everyone wants to hate on, but I like his tape

@EaglesXsandOs @RollPhillyDawgz The Wario comp made me lol. I see what you mean, but couldn’t you say the same about Howell w his build and alligator arms? Howell is only 1/2 an inch and 10 lbs bigger while have 1.5 inch shorter arms

@12th_Raider @RollPhillyDawgz I think Howell is much more agile and has even better closing speed. R Mason has the body shape of Wario, which makes its very easy to stop his rush if he doesn’t immediately win the corner with burst. I can’t think of many successful rushers in his mold

@SanDiegoPete73 Cool. But if he is in the position in the photo, any good tackle will shove him straight down and fall on top of him. Bend is a good thing. Being parallel to the ground with no leverage, as in the photo, is easily blocked. They are not the same thing.

@EaglesXsandOs @RollPhillyDawgz I'm curious how you see him vs Howell. I'm much higher on R Mason, with slightly longer arms and a more complete bag imo. Howell's pure reliance on speed coupled w his insanely short arms turn me away

@EaglesXsandOs @RollPhillyDawgz Disagree. His testing #'s were disappointing but he is first off the snap every play. Also has shown an effective speed to power despite his size. Run game needs developing but he has the right attitude for it. Rare to find a guy w his natural ability to get to the QB past rd1

@Th3DarthRaider Did you actually just say OL is the easiest position to address? Holy shit you’re dumb. There’s a reason so many of them go rd1 bc good ones are so hard to find. Do just a little research into the hit rate of third round pick OL before talking next time

If you can’t get a plug and play starter on the OL (esp guard) in the top 100 picks, your scouting department needs a heavy overhaul. Easiest position to address in football that isn’t special teams.

Rogers and Grant have the tools to be successful eventually. But the Raiders need plug and play starters on offense this season because this is by far the most important/tone setting year of Mendoza’s development
