@itsraheel21 @grok @stats_feed Until 1937 it was even 19min.32s which was then simplified to flat 20mins. The reason was that it was centered on the mean solar time of the Westertoren, the tower of the Westerchurch in Amsterdam, since before the standardized timezones were introduced in the late 19th century.

@grok @stats_feed Why did they have such an odd time in the first place?

@TomasZdechovsky @JDVance I'm still laughing about that statement about destroying HU economy. HU has been one of the biggest parasites (net beneficiaries) since they joined the EU, if anything HU still has an economy thanks to EU. Lovely country so good investment, but not to fill corrupt Orban's pockets
English

Diplomatic talent @JDVance has just discovered Brussels — apparently a place of “tyranny” where countries are expected to follow rules they themselves agreed to. Fascinating.
The idea that protecting the rule of law equals “destroying the economy” is truly a new chapter in political imagination.
But I’ll give him this — an American politician lecturing Europe not to interfere in elections? That’s a fresh one. 🙂

@TheDailyDraught Not great. Unfortunately in my country there's generally only 3 or 4 Irish brands max available even in liquor stores. All the rest is Scotch and Boubon. Of those few available i generally prefer Bushmills.

@BamaSaltyMarine Context matters, he said this about running an army, not about a head of state. I care less about the few profane words than about literally threatening with full genocide. Rhetoric or not, if that as a head of state pops in your mind you're sick. No dictator even said that.
English

To those of you fretting about President Trump's profane message to Iranian leaders.
Might I direct you to something once said by the great Gen. George S. Patton.
"You can't run an army without profanity; and it has to be eloquent profanity. An army without profanity couldn't fight its way out of a piss-soaked paper bag.
Patton said the use of swear words was part of cultivating a "war face."
This is not a church social or high tea - this is war, folks.

@kalmantibs @IAmSophiaNelson With potholes of incomprehensible size and depth.

@MarioNawfal Nothing masterful about getting your rhetoric to the level of literally threatening with full genocide. If that as a head of state even pops in your mind then you're really a sick fuck unfit for office. Even though i don't believe he would do it, there's no downplaying this.
English

@ChageNijn Zelfs voor superhelden fantasy hebben we de VS niet nodig, f marvel wij hebben:

Nederlands

@WalshFreedom Taco's gonna taco. But indeed, if it even pops in your mind to literally threaten with full genocide as rhetoric as a head of state, then you're an evil and sick fuck and unfit for office.
English

Here the thing: Trump lies as he breathes, and he makes threats that he always walks back. He’s been nothing but a lying/bullshitting marketer of himself his whole life. So when he threatens to end Iranian civilization tonight, odds are it’s an empty threat. But…even MAKING the threat is abhorrent, sickening, deranged, & dangerous.
But alas, I’m a broken record: He’s utterly unfit for office, he’s always been utterly unfit for office, and he should be removed from power immediately. 25th Amendment.

@Eng_china5 Now start dumping those treasury debt bonds (not all at once, phased for max effect), hurry up with establishing EU payment system, detack everything from USD and only trade in EUR; don't ratify the extorted trade deal, start uniforming EU weapons systems, establish central comm

France stabs the United States in the back.
Alongside its growing closeness to the East, the French Republic has disposed of 129 tons of French gold stored in New York, selling it and purchasing an equivalent amount of gold in Europe.
All of France’s gold reserves are now located in Paris, no longer in the United States as was previously the case

English

@EricLDaugh Partly as a result of being pressured by the US to not buy Russian energy, threats of sanctions and other measures if opening Nord Stream2 incl. sabotaging it. And Trump even repeated that last year to stop buy from RU or else face consequences.
English

@NiohBerg Nothing special, only destroying the entire Iranian civilization that exists roughly since 2 millenia, 3 centuries and 5 decades longer than the US. That's how much he understands "the real people of Iran". The last sentence contradicts this, bit can also be read as farewell:

English

@EricLDaugh @donna_beanland The criticism against Orban is based on his ever increasing authoritarian tendencies, almost all media under his control, hos party appointing judges etc. And the fact that he's trying to veto everything the rest of the EU unanimously votes in favor of.
English

@EricLDaugh @donna_beanland "Have tried to destroy the economy of HU" lmfao Hungary has been one of the biggest parasites of the EU (net beneficiary) pretty much since it joined. Without it HU economy would have crashed and burned pretty much since Orban is in office.
English

🚨 HOLY CRAP! JD Vance just WENT HARD against the European Union, slamming tyrannical bureaucrats for trying to destroy Hungary because nationalist Viktor Orban leads them
"Foreign election interference! The bureaucrats in Brussels have tried to DESTROY the economy of Hungary. They have tried to make Hungary less energy independent!"
"They have tried to drive up costs for Hungarian consumers. And they've done it all because they hate THIS GUY [Orban]."
"We think the amount of interference that's come from the bureaucracy in Brussels has been truly DISGRACEFUL!"
"I won't tell the people of Hungary how to vote. I would encourage the bureaucrats in Brussels to do the EXACT same thing." 🔥🔥
The EU are TYRANTS

@AlexBarnicoat_ You would have to share the revenue with France though. But you have more rights to it than Iran has,the English Chanel is not considered international waters, even though it's an international shipping lane it's managed as national territory divided by a median line between GB/FR

@JFPuget @ProofofMaro Not just in France, in most, if not all of Europe. Main reason is that the one on the left can be seen as a 1 if somebody with bad handwriting skills doesn't make the base of the 1 fully vertical but also a little bit diagonal.

@jamiemonk One of my favorite veggies, the texture/bite is almost unmatched by other leaf veggies. Every time we're staying in Thailand with the in laws, we go out to visit a family member outside town who grows it in his garden and pick it ourselves. Pak riang pad khai aroi maak 😃
English

@EricLDaugh Don't underestimate the number of civilians supporting the regime. It would not just be all civiliians fighting against the regime, but a civil war with 1 side supported by what's left of the regime with whatever tools (weapons, intel network) they have left at their disposal.
English

🚨 PRESIDENT TRUMP ON ARMING IRANIANS: "I'm very upset with a certain group of people, and they're going to pay a big price for that!"
"But the Iranian people will fight back as soon as they know they're not going to be shot and as soon as they can get weapons."
"If they had weapons, not many of them, if they had weapons that would go the other way, and you know what would happen? Iran would give up in two seconds because they wouldn't be able to take it."
"But in Iran, they have absolutely no weaponry. And they've been told point blank, if you come out, if you come out to the streets, you will be killed."
"As of this morning, and we have this on pretty good information, 45,000 protesters have been killed."
English

@FoxNews That opinion is shifting, it already is under Iranian expats staying in my country. First they were happy when Trump said the US would have their back and help was on the way. But since the condescending threat to bomb Iran back into the stone age where it belongs, he lost them.
