Yes, if this scenario somehow include children voting, then yes, you obviously choose blue.
That would be divergent enough from standard voting to warrant a mention in the scenario.
But sure, if children and retarded are voting, then yes, you need to vote blue to protect them from themselves.

Logically the answer is red button:
If you push the red button, you survive guaranteed. That applies to everyone. Just press red and go home, everyone lives, the end.
The only reason you’d press the blue button is:
A. You’re a fucking moron.
B. You want to die.
C. You’re willing to risk your life to save A&B from the consequences of their own decisions.
It’s the perfect embodiment of the mentality that society constantly needs to deprioritize itself to cater to the lowest common denominator. To save them from themselves.
Now the question is: is that suicidal empathy that will bring about the end of society, or is it a remarkable display of humanity that sets us apart from the rest of the animal kingdom?

This grossly misunderstands game theory.
Game theory is not about predicting the outcome of a conflict. It's about calculating the risk/reward trade off of any conflict.
In this case, voting red doesn't risk anything to yourself. You survive regardless of the outcome.
Voting blue risks harming yourself and no one else. All blue does it take a risk on losing.
All game theory does is let you calculate that risk and reward of the different outcomes.

Not only is the “game theory” answer predicting the wrong outcome, its explanatory power is based on it being able to predict the right answer. So it’s doubly wrong.
