With @eu_echo's support, Acted conducts safety audits assessment in IDP sites in 8 districts in #Somalia, as part of its CCCM activities. Through these assessments, Acted enhances the living conditions of the IDPs by identifying safety priorities and vulnerabilities.

The VSLA groups are equipped with essential financial skills, saving techniques, record-keeping, bylaw formulation, and loan disbursement processes, benefiting from this community-level saving and lending mechanism. #ZeroPoverty #ZeroExclusion

In #Somalia, Acted, with the support from @USAIDSavesLives, has established and provided training to Village Savings & Loan Association (VSLA) groups in Baidoa & Bardhere districts to enable vulnerable communities to build sustainable savings & gain long-term economic stability.

In Afgoye district, Acted, distributed 5 sites with maintenance tool kits, including bags of cement, wheelbarrows, shovels and rakes with wood handles, pointed shape tools, and roofs for rehabilitation and maintenance to enhance the living conditions of displaced families.

Site maintenance tools are key for displaced people to build or repair their shelters, water & sanitation facilities for greater safety. Acted, with the support of @eu_echo, provided maintenance tool kits to the populations affected by natural hazards &conflict across #Somalia.

🚰By providing more water access to marginalized and drought-affected communities, @acted_kenya is working to achieving a world with #ZeroExclusion, because no one should be excluded from safe drinking water.

Loekus* is a resident of Lesuwa Village and a beneficiary of @Acted's borehole project to improve access to clean water. His family’s distance to fetch water now has significantly reduced, and he no longer worries about being infected by waterborne diseases from surface water.

#WorldToiletDay, #Somalia, 34% of families practice open defecation in 2024. To ensure safe access to toilets, @Acted with the support of @eu_echo, @USAIDSavesLives & @OCHASom, constructs over 600 flood projected latrines equipped with solar lights and handwashing facilities.

With support from the @USAIDsaveslives, @Acted and its local partners @SADOsomalia & @gredosom provide essential hygiene kits to the most vulnerable households affected by drought, conflict and climate change in 11 districts in Southern Somalia, improving sanitation & hygiene.

In #Somalia, Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) needs remain severe due to compounded shocks such as recurrent drought, floods and conflicts. Nearly #7 million people need lifesaving WASH assistance in 2024.
