@StefanFSchubert The socdem economic policy was so bad that most economically productive people of Sweden, notably Astrid Lindgren, the author of Karlsson-on-the-roof, got hit with an income tax that exceded their income.

I disagree with this. Sweden did poorly and has done better after the old school social democratic policies were abandoned. That those policies failed is a lesson for the world to learn from, as Sweden has often been seen as the best example of this kind of system.

What Bernie Sanders types actually want is Sweden as it existed in the 70s and 80s under social democrats. They will never talk about Sweden's liberal reforms of the early 90s that saved its economy.

Russians are posting footage they claim shows likely a Swedish Saab 340 AEW&C long-range radar and control aircraft flying over Ukraine.

@AComprime @astraiaintel Not impossible, but currently I wouldn’t put money down on it. Some of it will ride on what happens for the rest of Trumps term and post Trump, but currently there is no real movement on the issue and even if there is there is a lot of things that would need to go right.

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.
