@BillyReinhardt I would not be so sure about that. Teams have been tanking for many years and it seems to me that relatively few become really good teams through tanking.

Flattening lottery odds swaps one problem for another:
There's no incentive to make the playoffs as an 8 seed if all lottery teams have a 35% shot at a top 5 pick
And that's much worse problem-- if teams are tanking to miss the playoffs, that's a *FAR* worse look the for league

It feels lost to time but I’m adamant that KD was the best player in 2021. Giannis won the title but Durant outplayed him in that series and only lost because Harden and Kyrie got hurt. If even one of them stays healthy the Nets win that title that’s Durant’s crowning moment.
