@AbdullahReads_ @amuseingtime @Simsimiyyah @oharalq There was no jarh hazrat, I just stated that no one looks to Allama Kashmiri رحمه الله when establishing the mu’tamad of the madhab, I don’t think that’s a controversial statement to say.

@funfire5 @Simsimiyyah @amuseingtime @oharalq Allamah Kashmiri was an alim mutabahir. An alim mutabahir has the liberty to depart from the madhahb in any masail where he believes another view is stronger.
There is a difference between holding a different view and quoting what the madhahb says.

For example, he always lists all the references he has available for even simple points e.g. "Gangohi in al-Kawkab al-Duri, Shaykh Zakariyyah in Awjaz al-Masalik, Saharanpuri in Bazl, Kasani in Bada'i, Ibn Rush in Bidayah al-Mujtahid etc, etc. state that Imam Malik says..."

I'm not in the habit of reading urdu Sharh of ahadith, but Mufti Shabbir Ahmed Qasmi's sharh of Sharh Ma'āni al-Āthar (Tahawi)....wow.

@wannabemuhadith Farsi isn't necessary anymore. The only benefit I derive from it is reading poetry. You're missing out on a treasure trove of 'Ilm in urdu though

@leostyleorio Obviously, the question remains as to why 'A'isha was so far off in her estimation of her age then. Have heard some responses to this.
I need to research this more, but it is important to remember that it is not from the necessities of deen.

@leostyleorio I don't have enough research into this, to be honest, and someone I respect highly mentioned that it is an apologetic and revisionist view.
But the historical argument makes somewhat sense if the sanad is acceptable (haven't researched it as I said).

@wannabemuhadith I know an 'alim who is an imam in Toronto and teaches alimiyyah in a madrassah. Only makes like $17k I think he said, wife and kids too. It's tough
