Almost three years ago I entered the Garden. Today I'm honored to announce my new role as Head of Community at @azuki. From the start, Azuki set the bar for what a community can be: a culture, a lifestyle, a feeling, and a family. It's about belonging to something greater, finding strength in the agency of others, and expecting nothing less than Dope Sh*t Only. That energy drew me in, drives me now, and fuels my excitement for this role. My journey as a leader of people, a product manager, and a builder of online communities led me here. Azuki has always been my home, my family, and now I'm fortunate to make it my profession and purpose. This global community inspires me to build, to innovate, to raise the bar. The Garden thrives because of the talent and passion of its members who shape our ecosystem with every interaction, every line of code, every artwork, every product. Our path ahead is about sharpening the feedback loop, fortifying connections, deepening belonging, and keeping culture and community at the heart of everything we do. This will be hard work, but the Garden is always worth the fight. Let’s build together, connect with one another, keep raising the bar, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗻𝗴𝗹. !IKZ ⛩️ •DGTL•

Three years have passed since I received Azuki #1445 from Tsubasa-san 🙏✨ Like the azuki bean nurtured by the Garden’s light, each relationship and all the support along the way has been my strength 🌱🫘✨ When I feel the passion, kindness, and dedication shining from this amazing community, I hope to keep growing and share that same light with everyone here 🙇‍♀️✨ I’m truly filled with gratitude and look forward to many more beautiful moments together ⛩️✨ (Japanese calligraphy by @ArtSumica)

@Zagabond Agreed with this. But you also have to consider your vast majority of holders. Small core holders have been silently shaken. Things need to move fast. While rewarding top collectors, should also reward the community as well to create momentum or it will be just less impactful.

@ExpectedValue_ @Azuki Totally agreed. It feels way different. It used to be community first. Now feels like any other communities out there. To be 100% honest. They lost the vibe and their Web 3.0 identity. Many people have been asking. Why hold Azuki? It used to be a quick and easy answer…

The Garden feels different today. And I don’t say that lightly. I create, I support creators. I’m a builder, a connector, a voice in this community. I’ve been here since the beginning. I’m not going anywhere. But there is a truth that rarely gets said out loud. Something in the Garden has shifted. The feedback loop is weaker. The connection that once felt unshakable is starting to fade. I used to go hard for Azuki. Every day I was creating, in DMs with builders, sharing resources, connecting people, keeping things alive. These days I still create, I still support, but I feel the shift. And I know I am not the only one who feels it. We have all seen the pivots. New focuses, new directions, new priorities. On paper they make sense. But in practice they have weakened the bond with the Garden, the community that set the tone and built the culture early on. The connection that once felt electric is fading, and every signal of weakness only makes that disconnect louder. Yes, pivots are rational. Yes, the business needs to evolve. But if the bridge to the community is not maintained, you are planting the seeds of long-term erosion. Hype can bring people in, but it cannot hold them. What keeps people here is loyalty, belonging, and culture. Without a strong base, every new wave is temporary. They come for the product or the moment, but they leave just as quickly. It is the community, the memory, the culture that makes people stay. And some will say this is about numbers, that if the price goes up everything feels fine. But this is not only about numbers. It is about belonging, clarity, and continuity. No matter how successful you look on paper, no matter how much reach you have... If the community keeps giving energy and it does not feel reciprocated, you lose the very engine that made this brand matter. The mission and energy early on were clear. Build up creators. Empower builders. Let culture lead. That message brought people in. It gave us pride, trust, and identity. Now the focus feels different. With fewer signals of care and fewer bridges back to holders, confidence drops. Creators and holders feel invisible, and the vibe cools. So why does this feel off, even if the strategy looks logical on paper? Because mission drift without a clear bridge creates identity whiplash. The team optimizes for growth while the community seeks meaning. Growth and meaning are not the same thing. Confidence is not only about markets. When signals fade and silence follows, the community reads it as abandonment. Creators who once felt core now feel peripheral, and that kills momentum. And the truth is this. Community memory fades. And when the market turns, if there is no base to relight, all the momentum we built together will be gone. I am not saying this from the outside looking in. I am saying this as someone who has been building since day one and will keep building. But these gaps are real. The silence is real. The weight of keeping the culture alive is being carried almost entirely by the community. Azuki will keep moving. It will be successful in some form. But if the core fades, if the Garden is not nurtured. Then the chance to build something truly lasting may begin to slip away. So this is a call. Not a complaint, not a rant. A call. To remember what made this matter. To support the core that gave it life. To foster what still makes it strong. Because if we get this right, the next wave will not just come and go. It will stay. It will belong. And it will remind everyone why this mattered in the first place. ⛩️

Last but not least, our final artist spotlight for Sake and a Dream is @kamogawayuka, one of the most beloved artists in the Garden and an all around incredible person. She’s been obsessed with drawing, anime and manga since she was a kid, and always pushing herself to keep up with talented classmates. Over time her style grew out of influences like Japanese ukiyo e, Art Nouveau, and the flow and energy you see in anime like Demon Slayer. If you’re part of the Garden you’ve definitely know work. She’s known for capturing Azuki characters with real emotion and layering in little personal stories. And she recently hit a milestone when her art was featured on the Azuki x Lifeguard Cheerio energy drink cans in Japan, a full circle moment since Cheerio had supported her back in her student days. For Sake and a Dream, Yuka pictured Bobu at his happiest: sake in hand, riding a great wave made of sake, inspired by Hokusai’s Great Wave. It’s playful, surreal, and perfectly captures Bobu’s spirit. She joined the Garden back in February 2022 and has been a key part of the community ever since, sharing her art and uplifting others. We couldn’t be happier to close out the lineup with her work. Previews Next! IKZ ⛩️
