Tesla Model Y is crazy cheap. Just $529/month with about $6000 due up front (down payment + sales tax). Basically everyone in America can afford this car. Why aren’t more people doing this?

Your friend doesn’t need motivation, they need structure. This is exactly how people quietly walk themselves into financial pressure. At $155,000 a year, let’s keep it simple and realistic. After taxes, even at a modest effective rate of about 20–25%, they’re bringing home roughly $115,000 to $120,000. Call it about $10,000 a month net. Now we start allocating. Mortgage: $4,300 Property taxes and insurance (escrow, depending on state): easily $800–$1,200 Utilities (electric, water, internet, gas): $500–$800 Basic living expenses (food, gas, subscriptions, etc.): $1,500–$2,000 We have not even touched childcare yet. Twins with full-time daycare? In most markets, that’s $1,500 to $2,500 per child. So you are realistically looking at $3,000 to $5,000 per month. Now stack it: Mortgage and housing overhead: ~ $5,500 Childcare: ~ $4,000 (middle estimate) Basic living: ~ $1,800 You are now at roughly $11,300 on a $10,000 net income. That does not “work.” That is a deficit. And deficits do not solve themselves. They get financed. What happens next is predictable. Credit cards, personal loans, maybe a HELOC if there’s equity. In the short term, it feels manageable because you’re patching the gap. In the long term, you’ve now added interest payments on top of an already broken structure. Now the question becomes, how long can you borrow to fund a lifestyle? Not long. Eventually, the credit tightens, the balances grow, and the pressure compounds. And that’s before life happens. Job loss, medical issues, unexpected repairs. There is no margin here. If both of them truly work from home, on paper you might reduce childcare. But twins are not a background task. Two full-time jobs and two infants at home is not sustainable long term. Most people end up paying for help anyway, even if it starts part-time. If they don’t work from home, then transportation becomes another layer. In a car-dependent area, you’re adding car payments, insurance, fuel, maintenance. That can easily run $800 to $1,500 or more per month per vehicle. So either way, the math stays tight, or worse, negative. And to be clear, I’m not speaking from a tax angle or dissecting their exact situation. I manage money. I see this pattern all the time. Some people are already in versions of this, and if they are, they know the pressure. The principle is simple. You cannot out-borrow a structural deficit. Your lifestyle has to follow your cash flow, not your aspirations. As one of my mentors, the late, great MKO Abiola said, "Cut your coat according to your material, not according to your size."

When your friend says they finally bought their "dream home". The payment is $4,300/mo & they make $155,000/yr. They’re also pregnant with twins & unsure of how much full time day care will cost...

I simply cannot understand why people are so angry about a ballroom that future Presidents will enjoy and is 100% privately funded. President Trump could save a kitten from a tree and it would still be a scandal.

@hutchinson It’s a huge reversal driven by hubris. Trump had no credible opposition in early .2025. It was an eerie moment and it felt like dictatorship could actually happen. Now, he’s a toxic lame duck, a liability for GOP & will likely spend the rest of his term fihgint impeachments

Trump barely squeaked out a <2% popular vote. If ~120k votes had went Kamala’s way in MI/WI/PA, he would have lost. After his W, we heard months of rhetoric about Trump’s political dominance and the potential death of the Democratic Party. Fast forward a year, and…🤷🏼‍♂️

MLB let it get this bad. They could have implemented performance standards, they could have rotated umpires out if their calls were continuously bad. All of the data has been captured for a decade. Every fan saw how bad it was. The MLB tried to ignore it, and now they're embarrassing themselves by showing just how bad it is. At this point they've already proven that entire SEASONS could have gone different ways because of how many calls have been overturned in just a week. The first week of the season we have an ump who got close to 10% of his calls wrong. We have some that only got .007% of their calls wrong. There are less than 80 MLB umpires in the league. BENCH the worst ones, allow them to go through training or an eye test, and bring in some new talent and see how they perform. I can't believe I'm sad that Angel Hernandez is not an MLB umpire anymore. I may actually have traveled to a few games to see him get destroyed by a dozen lost challenges a game.

No. The humiliation is long overdue We have watched umpires make themselves the center of attention for years, in many cases for being bad at their jobs and suing MLB. CB Buckner being embarrassed is a small consolation. Too bad Joe West isn’t around anymore. We shouldn’t even know umpire names but here we are.

@AmericaMaximal @DaveF937 @catturd2 @TruthTrumpWon If what you say is true, then I don't think America can handle anymore "prosperity." THIS is what we're supposed to be working towards...and continuing our involvement in foreigne entanglements won't get us any closer to achieving this...which IS MAGA.👇
