@KindHeartedHunk Are you stoned? 300 days of sunshine, skiing, biking and a significantly higher standard of living. Ireland is very pretty, for the 5 weeks a year it isn’t dreary. Far less variation on climate and topography. Far less to do Heck no I’m taking Utah

@jhallwood So pleasant to read a rare comment in this site that isn't intended to denigrate a country or its people. Agree entirely.

@MIT_IO_ @AllyFogg And if you take Labour historically (pre 2010) being more bottom half of chart, then you can see the argument that in long run it is to Reform (via Tories in 2019) they have lost more voters than to Greens even if the opposite looking only at post 2024.

@MIT_IO_ @AllyFogg No but would be interested. I was assuming a London one and AI ask suggests Tower Hamlets. I took best definition of point being lower left quadrant, which is split in half but with greater concentration of wards in Labour portion.

@Anapecalleddave @willglloyd A crude statement, observation or joke, take your pick he’s made a few and nobody cares anymore about language being policed by people that shout: “Charlie Kirk, got it in the neck”, “from the river to the sea”, etc etc etc ad nauseam. Yawn.

Burnham: “send me to london to change the labour party” Reform: “i’d love to sniff carol vorderman’s arse, also women can’t drive” Greens: “farming is racist” which message will resonate with makerfield’s voters?
Politics UK@PolitlcsUK

🚨 NEW: The Green Party’s Makerfield candidate Sarah Wakefield runs a charity which calls for British farming to be “decolonised” with “inclusive spaces” It also shared a report arguing perfectionism is an example of “white supremacy culture” [@billcurtis0 / @daisyeastlake]

@willglloyd No man with an ounce of testosterone gives a fuck that someone made a crude joke. And we’re past worrying what women think, since they entered top positions in our institutions the western world has turned to shit. Ffs. 🙄

@ruhlax_guy @ChinChinGinn @W1llHerman To be fair, cricket is pretty easy as well. You can easily have an unserious game with just a bat and ball, something to use as a wicket, and space. But think it being less involved for all players counts against.

@Anapecalleddave @ChinChinGinn @W1llHerman It's popular b/c it's cheap and easy to get a game together - two players, a ball, and a few stray objects to lay on the ground to act as goalposts Compare to baseball, cricket, American football, hockey... you need more ppl, equipment, "stuff" to get something resembling a game

@ChinChinGinn @W1llHerman @SidKhurana3607 Football didn't spread with empire like cricket and rugby. It spread through migrant workers. It's popular simply because it's so good.

You cluld argue the reason it’s so popular in Africa is because almost every African country was tuled by European ones at some point, but that argument falls apart when you consider that the most popular sport in Asia is ALSO soccer. That makes it the most popular sport in Europe, Africa AND Asia. Which you COULD argue that many Asian countries were ruled by European countries, but all of that makes a lot less sense when you realize that Japan was never ruled by any European OR any nation in the Western hemisphere, yet their favorite sport is Baseball. When you look through all data and research, it starts to show this- countries like certain sports for different reasons. 🤷‍♂️

@oscarcsims I don't care for some obsessive serving a kind of optimised "third wave" perfectly roasted cup in a soulless, placeless, identikit coffee shop. In Italy the joy is the shared culture of having a coffee.

@SkySportsNews It's crazy even that if it does hit his hand anyone would think that a penalty. If it is by tye law, then the law's an ass. Because the whole point of penalising foul play is to prevent illegal advantage being gained. Not just for tye sake of it.
