If you’re a follower of mine tell this person how old you are. They still think my audience is really young. I’m Gen X. Can I get some Boomer shoutouts? I know there’s a ton of you who follow this account.

Its looking like there won't be coverage of the NZ election Saturday night on Aussie TV (from what I can see). Because it coincides with the Voice Referendum. Other NZ elections have been covered on Aus TV. Hoping that NZ based coverage can be streamed from overseas.

@TheRealHoarse Great post. In Australia & New Zealand we have ANZAC Day (Veterans Day) when many say “Never forget”. I was pleased to hear that some say “We will remember” and I always say that.

On the morning of 9/11, a casual friend of mine was on a high floor of the World Trade Center above where the first plane struck. He called another friend of ours to tell him he was trapped and it didn’t look good. He didn’t make it out. There is a 9/11 memorial near me… 1/

@SundaeDivine I live in Australia/ born in New Zealand & visit my elderly mother there often. I have seen the ‘masks’ come off too. It very noticeable in NZ where the ‘psyche’ is less altruistic now. Pandemic/shutdown PTSD? Trumpism emboldening global extreme thinking?

I'm not sure exactly when they took the masks completely off, but wow, we sure live in a pretty crappy bigoted world all of a sudden, don't we?

@Peter_Fitz “They’re asking questions of the opposition.” What questions? “What do think of the weather lately?” “Where’s a good restaurant in this town?” “Did you like that pass I just threw? 🤷‍♂️

Name the most tiresome tropes/cliches in sport. Everything you say, can/will/might be used by me in a column! My all time most hated commentator cliche is the gravely intoned "Not the start they were looking for," after the opposing team scores in 20 seconds. Gee, really?

@CosmicRami Seriously? You have so much dry toast. Yuk. Spread the butter all the way into the corners, then smear all the way too. Some days are minimal vegemite, others you need a proper hit! Don't judge people until you walk a mile in their shoes.

Dr Andrew Miller - bring back disease prevention
Politicians proclaiming ‘we have to move past covid exceptionalism’ means they wont protect you any more from an ongoing threat just because it was all getting a bit hard to ask people to wear a mask & improve ventilation & get a booster shot. No-one was being asked to go to war.

@samanthamaiden I think it’s a fragile ego thing. Some guys feel emasculated when a woman betters them. I am not sure it’s curable. Especially when so many men still go to the pub and have to be the dominant male. Or go to Parliament House and behave that way
