𝗕𝗘𝗠𝗟 𝗨𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮’𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝟯𝟱-𝗧𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗽 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗸, 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 BEML Ltd has achieved a significant milestone with the unveiling of India’s first indigenous 35-ton Electric Dump Truck at its Mysuru Complex. The equipment was flagged off by Shri Shantanu Roy, @cmdbeml, in the presence of Shri Sanjay Som, Director (Mining & Construction), SBU Heads, and officials from Medha and BEML. This development marks a major step towards sustainable mining and infrastructure solutions. The indigenously designed electric dump truck is engineered to deliver high productivity with zero tailpipe emissions. Built to global standards, the platform aligns with India’s ESG commitments and carbon reduction goals, while reinforcing BEML’s focus on clean and future-ready technologies. The 35-ton Electric Dump Truck is powered by a high-efficiency Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) and is designed for operation in demanding mining environments. With a payload capacity of 35 tons and a gross vehicle weight of approximately 60 tons, the truck is optimised for heavy-duty, stop-start duty cycles typical of mining applications. The electric drivetrain delivers an energy efficiency of 85–90%, significantly higher than conventional diesel-powered equipment. The vehicle is equipped with a Regenerative Braking System (RBS), enabling energy recovery during operations, particularly in downhill conditions. A state-of-the-art Battery Thermal Management System (BTMS), featuring liquid cooling, ensures optimal temperature regulation, enhancing safety and extending the life of the 300 kWh lithium-ion battery. In addition to its environmental advantages, the platform offers substantial economic benefits, including up to 60–70% savings in energy costs and a 40–60% reduction in overall operating costs. Lower maintenance requirements, owing to fewer mechanical components, further enhance its value proposition. Depending on operational intensity, the system offers a payback period of approximately one to two years. @MinesMinIndia @PIB_Coal @CoalIndiaHQ @CoalMinistry @MConsumables @parts_equipment @developedindia @GovtOfIndia_

𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗠𝗦𝗠𝗘 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 | 𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗖–𝗔𝗠𝗧𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 “In manufacturing, while scale drives efficiency, it is the depth provided by our MSME partners that builds resilience and positions BEML as a future-ready, globally competitive enterprise.” Speaking at the National Defence Industries Conclave – Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (NDIC–AMTS) 2026 at the Manekshaw Centre, Shri Shantanu Roy participated in a high-level panel discussion on Main Battle Tanks, Armoured Platforms, Military Logistics & Special Vehicles, alongside industry leaders. He highlighted a critical perspective—while large engineering platforms often reflect scale, technology, and national capability, their true strength lies in the ecosystem that powers them. At the core of this ecosystem are MSMEs—driving design, precision manufacturing, fabrication, and lifecycle support across sectors. From High Mobility Vehicles operating in extreme terrains to metro systems serving millions and heavy mining equipment in remote geographies, BEML’s platforms are built on the strength of a robust MSME network. With over 1,066 MSMEs among its 1,785 approved vendors, BEML continues to deepen indigenous capabilities across sectors—achieving over 95% indigenisation in High Mobility Vehicles, 90% in Mining & Construction, and 90% in Rail & 65% in Metro. This growing partnership is also reflected in procurement, with MSME sourcing more than doubling over the past three years—from approximately ₹700 crore to ₹1,600 crore—now contributing nearly 40% of BEML’s domestic procurement. MSMEs have played a pivotal role in advancing indigenisation in defence manufacturing, delivering critical aggregates such as driver cabins, brake systems, engine components, and suspension systems—demonstrating agility, innovation, and reliability. @DefProdnIndia @DDPINDIA @PIB_India
