83-year-old Ohio man, William Brock, was sentenced to 21 years to life in prison for killing an Uber driver whom he thought was scamming him.
61-year-old Loletha Hall sadly died after Brock thought she was a phone scammer.
"Mr. Brock received some scam call by a person purporting to be someone from our courts who informed him a family member was incarcerated and that he had a bond of a significant amount of money," said Clark County Lt. Kristopher Shultz.
The scammer had reportedly requested an Uber ride to Brock's home to pick up money.
Hall, who was unaware of what was going on, went to Brock's front door and was met by him with a gun.
Brock will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars.
