The shooting of a 14-year-old boy in South East London is absolutely tragic and my condolences to the young man's family.
Should the Met be cutting the number of detectives, police officers, and staff at this time? Experience from the austerity years should have taught us that cutting police numbers only makes the public less safe.
The government seriously must look into the funding situation. There is a policing and public safety crisis on the horizon which could be worse than anything faced between 2010 and 2016.
