@RoaringHammy Yes it does. Gambling is very powerful. A lot of people say they don't get affected by the outcomes but I think they're all lying. I'm of the opinion that you only have control over how good or bad you feel about the outcome but it's never absolutely neutral.
We have a bougie donut shop in town where people line up before they open in the weekends. I'd much rather have a KK but we can't have those because my husband can crush a dozen in a few mins and I don't want to encourage him getting fat. When we were dating I showed up to his apt and there were 2 dozen kk boxes with 1 donut in each box.
Today is my 37th birthday.
Starting over at 36 was terrifying.
But I have a loving wife, 4 amazing kids, a beer in my hand and steak and lobster on the grill.
I closed this week at just under 20k in revenue which is insane to me considering where we came from last April.
I actually found a purpose again last year. My mental health has improved, I’ve lost 55lbs, and I’ve met some really cool people this year.
At 36 I took a leap of faith at 37 I plan on optimizing those choices and making my life run a bit smoother.
Love y’all, stay blessed.
@FinPhilosopher I'm old and got pit injuries. I also got my back miraculously healed in a pit in 2010. Now I just groove on the edge, keep people safe and go when I get pushed in or when it's my m-f-ing song.
I have to do an annual Zoom with the bank that holds the majority of the debt for Business #1 ($200k+)
We did it this morning! Always nerve racking because they reserve the right to demand the money if we're going in the wrong direction.
All clear! They said we're better off this year than last year, which is comforting
@CDInewsletter I had 120hrs banked with a previous employer. Requested three weeks in advance to use banked time for an important life event.
Request denied.
Started calling in sick and get paid for the whole day without using banked time whenever I needed a day off.
I have a friend who:
- Gets 10 sick days/year
- Is allowed to bank them, up to 85
- Already has 40+ banked
- Refuses to use them because he might "need" them one day
- Takes a holiday day instead
- Has disability in case he gets really sick
Insane behaviour, right?
- Don’t spend that $1,000 because it will be worth $5k in the future.
- Don’t take that trip, you have to cut expenses.
- Don’t spend now, you have to save it for retirement.
WHATEVER. 🙄
We shouldn’t save it all for an uncertain future. We have to enjoy the journey too.
@Lovey1973 Yeah that's why you should always walk in and get only the good ones. Boston cream I would argue are the only decent chocolate ones in there.
@Lovey1973 Thanks for the offer but I have a 224cc pressure washer I got last summer. A gift from me to me. It's a blast to use both literally and figuratively.
@BlueKoalaa I usually go to Free Flow in Shannonville because after you collect 10 stamps, you get a free car wash.
I probably have a few if you want a freebie. Let me know.
@Lovey1973 Yeah I usually take 566 and go to visit the cigar chief and fuel up at the 5 nations. The further you get from the 401 the cheaper the price it seems.
Absolutely. Quality of life is really what you make it. My hobbies are reducing costs, increasing self reliance and playing video games with the occasional road trip. I have a great family and great friends. It costs an average of around $77,000/y CAD for a family of three, my cost is less than half of that, even after that crazy bout of inflation we just had, so I have ample resources for things that actually matter.
@RoaringHammy Yeah just the hotdog and drink. It's quicker, cheaper and doesn't get you as fat as quickly. Also ask for onions, they have them about 60% of the time.
