Would be happy to hear an alternative explanation for this, if it exists. Somehow I doubt it.

🇺🇸 During the @WaysandMeansGOP field hearing in Nevada, I had the privilege of hearing from Sharon Simmons about how the One Big Beautiful Bill will make a real difference in her life. As a mother and caregiver, she shared how this tax relief will help her and her family. Her story is just one of thousands across America who are finding financial breathing room thanks to @HouseGOP.

@ChristianVogl12 @JPoliticalChess @kbadenhausen @WHOOP For sure, and I would bet there is also a great deal of effort into mindset & managing that aspect. Once into elite levels of performance / athleticism, the mental aspects are as impactful as the technique & physical ones.

@JPoliticalChess @kbadenhausen @WHOOP As to why they can keep cool under pressure, could just be their genetics. Who knows. Starting from a young age makes a difference too

@cookstarfarms @GoddessofGrain I bet it’s incredible how this small bit of intentional friction (things not being a button tap away) must be a big help for the headspace.
Also, with the laptop it’s like the old “computer room” days, where at least there was limit or boundary of sorts, around an online session.
English

@GoddessofGrain I have a flip phone no apps, look at Twitter on my laptop when I come into the house. Keep us updated on how the House is coming along. Better days ahead.

@TECHdigression @MicrosoftHelps @Windows I had also been sus re: vibe coding element (either to force usage/#’s or bc headcount etc) but yeah agreed; you’re far from the first who’s seen good faith be tested irreparably.
Man, I used to love XP so much lol besides nostalgia, it really was the elegance of simplicity.
English

It wasn't always like this. I was a huge fan of Microsoft and Windows before they started added too much telemetry and forced bloat... But they were still stable, and you could manage your data.
This past year has been a nightmare though. Something changed whether it's vibe-coding (prompting AI to do it for you) or just started hiring less qualified people... Or a combination. That's my best guess.
So many random updates have been known to "brick" peoples computers just because of the update. It's a rampant problem at this point.
English

Thanks a lot, @MicrosoftHelps and @Windows This is too much, And happens too often across multiple devices I work on for people. My personal windows rig has fried itself... AGAIN. I'm this close to just deploying RockyOS for my editing workflow, and Bazzite for gaming

English

@TECHdigression @MicrosoftHelps @Windows My goodness, this is just beyond, how do they make this so difficult?! 😞
I am a novice (by preference) when it comes to tech, & have been rewarded in avoiding Windows any chance I can lol .. but to see how someone so versed & competent as you is getting walls & headaches ://
English

Brother, I am so burned out when it comes to Windows update shenanigans. I'm managing to pinpoint more common issues with certain model motherboards and CPUs. It seems to happen more often with a Ryzen 9900x on the B850 platform. I don't know why. I've tried newer ISOs, I've tried reverting updates only for the repair menu to fail from the windows USB, I've tried auto repair, I've tried to update the drivers in the command prompt on some that have failed... And some worked.
This is awful. I'm swimming in hardware. I don't particularly want to move to a two 3 PC setup, but I'm about to. I'm about to NOT run windows on anything besides a cheap laptop for those growingly rare absolute need for windows. Linux has become so user friendly, I'm ready to dump it... Even at the expense of having my workstation dedicated to RockyOS and gaming dedicated to BazziteOS
English

@TECHdigression @Windows Nice that’s really good for the Linux progress in user friendliness.
+ Good job for teaching tech & hands on skills to your daughter!
I would have to wholly agree for the Msft parts.. the hassle caused, their coasting off contracts, and especially the vibe code / giving up lol
English

It's a pain that a lot of people are going through in the professional world. The thing is that there are Linux distributions that aren't just for enthusiasts or professionals anymore. I slept Bazzite on my daughter and even showed her how I installed it once. It was so easy for her.
Window should actually be worried. If there are free alternatives that are so easy that a child can use them... Then they are failing... Unless they have so many contracts with corporations that they just don't care.
It feels like they're using AI to vibe code Windows updates. Either that, or they have selectively hired the wrong people.
English

I'm stuck in a "auto repair" boot loop. I've been trouble shooting this and nothing seems to be working. Right after a @Windows update today... Last time, I was able to salvage my install. Now I'm going to have to reinstall windows and lose so much work.
I've switching OSs on all of my machines after this. I've been using Linux more and more. This is the tipping point for me. I've had this happen more than once, and this time I don't think I can save it. @Microsoft do you guys even care anymore? I'm actually astounded at how much Windows has messed up work, or business for me over this past years time. I've avidly supported you guys, and now it just seems like you haven't cared in so long.
