Doing things to be glorified by others is pointless. No matter what you do in life, once you become successful or accomplish good works, envious people will often despise you, downplay your achievements, and sometimes even former friends can turn into enemies.

Trying to have someone or a position unjustly condemned as heretical by the Church has been the modus operandi of many liars and conspirators for centuries.

“Feeneyism” is not heresy. It’s a stupid term made by those that hate Christ and the Church. Its tactic used by communists and anti-Catholics. According to Yuri Bezmenov, a KGB agent, it was called Ideological Subversion which involves creating a term for Western traditions in order to target it and stigmatize the tradition. The tactics famously laid out by Bezmenov was also used by anti-Catholics who had sadly already infiltrated the Church. The Vatican II occurred because of these anti-Catholics. You need to understand the words of Christ and embrace the true Faith (John 3:5; Titus 3:5). Without water baptism and the Faith, a soul is lost.

Refusal to submit to the Lawful Authority of the Roman Pontiff IS a doctrinal error. I’ll do you the courtesy of not creating a 6-page tweet of citations on this point. You might recall this had something to do with a German Augustinian monk’s Excommunication roughly 5.5 Centuries earlier. Father Feeney had his Priestly Faculties suspended by his Archbishop as far back as 1949. He knew what the issues were and to pretend he didn’t would be an insult to his considerable intellect. He claimed the Summons lacked sufficient form but he was not the arbiter of this issue. I’m grateful Father Feeney reconciled with the Church later. I believe Father Feeney was a good and Faithful Priest who, absent the apparently singular flaw, we need more of. In fact, one of my favorite Penances was being asked to pray for the soul of Father Feeney awhile back.
