@BugBrand @BBCBristol People find it easier to sit in traffic than to navigate a poor bus system.

@CraigShetesmith @BBCBristol Agreed, but while the system desparately tires to declog after decades of motor focus, we do need individual change too - eg. you're smart enough to use motorbike for your commute 👍Perhaps it's media skew, but I rarely hear of people making changes to sidestep daily congestion.

@BugBrand @BBCBristol To bring down low occupancy cars they need to improve public transport. Car sharing is tricky. Do your colleagues live near you & is it economically viable to detour and pick up. Do your colleagues start at the same time as you. This is where it falls apart.

@CraigShetesmith @BBCBristol Agreed, but the point -> how do we change behaviour to reduce the number of low occupancy vehicles? How to promote car sharing for example? Sticking with a congestion focused system doesn't always get people to work on time either & doesn't promote good mental/physical health.

@BugBrand @BBCBristol Most people I know who drive state the unreliable bus services for reason to drive. At least you know youll get to work on time.

@CraigShetesmith @BBCBristol Riding a motorbike is a positive solution - quick & efficient, relatively affordable. One of the main issues with cars is how many are single occupancy - no wonder so many areas are clogged! It's an expensive & inefficient system - too many wedded to it, but alternatives needed!

@BBCBristol Other forms of transportation? Bus links there are shocking to non existent. It is so anti car. If you live the opposite of town it’s easier to use own transport. I ride a motorcycle and takes me 15-20 mins to get to work. An hour and 2 buses if use public transport.

@M1J5556 @beardedjourno Hey, surprisingly, I also see things day to day ;) In agreement that cyclists riding through red lights can be well twatty - but to state 'most' (idiotic). My daily observations also spot: Pedestrians not looking Motorists being pure dangerous See your narrowness yet?

@BugBrand @beardedjourno Look at you with all the big words. It's not hatred, just fact from what I see every single day. Please feel free to give me any kind of good reason why so many cyclists ride through red lights without a care in the world.

How dare the council close this putrid and little-used subway with a pedestrian crossing already above it to make Redcliff Hill safer for the most vulnerable road users bristol247.com/news-and-featu…

@M1J5556 @beardedjourno Your reply just highlights your narrow view ;) Why do you feel that you have to vent your hatred in such a peversely ignorant manner? The wider scheme is about investment in public & active travel, something the city & country need. Positive investment 👍

@beardedjourno Oh the poor old vulnerable cyclists....give it a rest mate. Most of you...not all don't think twice about breaking the law and riding through a red light or riding like complete morons.

Dear councils, 97% of meadows are gone. So please, value our wildflowers. If you are lucky enough to have them growing in verges and public spaces, don't poison or over-mow them. Let them grow as a lifeline for bees, butterflies and hoverflies 🐝

@EdPlowden @BristolCouncil @BristolCycling It's much clearer - though a real shame that it didn't extend to the crossing at the south end of Broad Quay House on Prince St. There's a narrowing slither of walkway next to the building so many pedestrians go down there & then come into conflict with the cycle lane!

@TristanCorkPost I thought it was a really interesting article - good to hear this viewpoint & be reminded of the many, fairly opaque aspects at play 👍

@TiceRichard Need an update of the late great Bill Hicks - remember him sucking on a microphone? (many politicians could have benefited watching his performances) Here we have Reform sucking on the fuel nozzle of big oil. Money talking!

@TRESAcic @vpagbristol @EdPlowden @silaseton1 Got notification from 3 separate old neighbours this morning about it! Amazing & about time too. I moved the other side of the park so gave up pushing, but weirdly it'd popped to mind recently.

@BugBrand @beardedjourno Yes your very correct, they belong to us ALL. Not just abusive, angry, male cyclists! So should therfore be open to all, I should not have to squeeze my large disabled vehicle down a side street to access my own larger street? ♿️ make it make sense?

@TristanCorkPost @InsideAirbnb @BristolLive 2yrs ago I'd noticed these new builds in the Dings - seemed a good spot for new housing. But once finished, I was having a drink at the Barley Mow & noticed someone come up, phone in hand & find their way to a front door - turns out ALL had key boxes. All built for AirBnB?! 💩

London! One week from tonight, on March 24, Luke Fowler and I will be at @Cafeoto to present our duo “J’ai pensé sans paroles,” a new piece by Brunhild Ferrari called “Errant Ear,” and Luke’s two marvelous portrait films about Brunhild. (Note that Brunhild will not be present.)
