My conclusion after reading through the dozens of comments this accrued is 'make absolutely certain everyone you care about knows you will press red and to do the same.'

Coworkers were talking about the "Blue-Red button" dilemma and one summed it up well: Initially you'll want to choose blue out of compassion, but once you realize everyone already knows the rules going into it, the only reason you'd choose blue is to save blues from themselves.

@RadFleck I've been out of the loop but this is just the prisoner's dilemma but if you both defect you both walk free with no downsides The optimal move for the group as a whole is for everyone to press the red button. The blue button is basically just a suicide button at that point
