I do find it a little bit funny that Carney constantly questions the patriotism of his political opponents while also constantly wishing he could be part of a different continent that he clearly considers better than his own.

Halo ended with Reach and I will not be convinced otherwise.

Is this a safe space to say that I hate the ‘girly-popping’ of sports Most of us just want to watch and enjoy sports, same as men and anyone else. We don’t need makeup comparisons, hockey romance books and ‘boy aquarium hehe’ to make sports enjoyable

God save us from Ordinary minds. These are not ordinary times. And the ordinary minds have no idea how to extricate us from this extraordinary mess

I basically think the average voter is pretty wrong on: 1) Nuclear power (it's good) 2) Foreign aid (we spend very little on it and should spend more) 3) Climate change (a majority say they're not willing to have any additional amounts of their tax money spent on climate. The national average willingness to pay for things that help with climate is ~$300 per year) 4) Immigration (I think it's broadly good across the board, and definitely good to get more high skilled immigrants specifically) 5) Price controls in general (bad!) I'd like governments to patiently nod along to voter concerns but quietly approve more nuclear, spend more on foreign aid, pay way more on climate, and allow at least more high skilled immigrants. I just flat out think it's wrong for politicians to have 1-1 similar views to the median voter and sometimes they need to diverge.

The same is true of Vancouver. People are always telling me they’re “from Vancouver” when they weren’t in fact born in Vancouver, but moved there like ten years ago, and usually actually live in, like, Coquitlam. You are only from Vancouver if you were born in Vancouver (and no, the suburbs don’t count). (Also, ftr, I can always tell when people who say they’re from Vancouver are not actually from Vancouver.)
