It is time for good men to step up and replace our weak leaders. We must demand moral leaders & if there are none then we must be the moral candidates. Let's build a support network to raise up moral leaders. Reply where and how you can help. #ReplacetheGOP #SavetheRepublic

@james_xond 23 in 2023. I assume we're counting Mortgages and not literally the age at which you own it outright
English

@ronkelleyjr @JohnCornyn Yeah No one but Cornyn made Cornyn come out in support of amnesty
English

Anyone who knows the facts as opposed to the social media misinformation rants, knows @JohnCornyn has served Texas and our Country well. This thoughtful and humble man has done his job with character and honor. He’s highly respected in the halls of Congress. We need more John Cornyn’s versus what we see from many just seeking sound bites so they can raise money (including personal net worth ) and increase their profile. I’ll take Senator Cornyn over any of them. Vote John Cornyn on May 26! #charactermatters

The incumbent GOP senator is fighting to the end, and Democrats sense opportunity in November if Paxton wins. on.wsj.com/4wNRyr6
English

@_ZacharyMiller @dtwilson117 I still plan to vote for whoever wins the Runoff in November. Cornyn might chicken out at key moments when we need him to act but I know Talarico will actively work against us
English

@_ZacharyMiller @dtwilson117 I voted Hunt because I don't like either but in the Runoff I'm leaning Paxton as much as his character concerns me as I think Cornyn will do more harm than good. Regardless of how this runoff goes we really need moral people with a backbone to get into politics going forward.

@ShadowMario83M @nichtmehr33 Did Americans just invent Europeans complaining about heat waves or did it come from Europeans complaining about heat waves? Remember, you personally don't have to be one of the Europeans who complained
English

@ChaseDavidsonTX @nichtmehr33 >two non-europeans playing dolls and pretending europeans all complain about heat as if we didn't evolve in this climate

English

Is HVAC technology illegal in Europe or do they choose to live like this?

@kwrcrow Claim: Ken Paxton can't win a General Election.
Source: I like Cornyn
English

Attention #Texas: #KenPaxton cannot win the general election this November. Hold your collective noses and vote for #JohnCornyn. I know he is a moderate, but he has become very powerful in the #Senate. He supports conservative values and votes accordingly. Keep Texas red.
English

@TeaPartyOGs What concerns me more than how annoying they are is the implication that they actually work on enough people to be worth paying for
English

@ChaseDavidsonTX Chase, those have come out of nowhere and now dominate TV. Especially conservative news shows.
English

@ShadowMario83M @nichtmehr33 If you werent complaining about the summer heat we wouldn't know it's an issue for you. What do you mean your not uncomfortable in the summer heat?
English

@junitheopossum The same reason people make fun of us when an inch of snow shuts everything down. Monkey brain finds it funny when trivial thing to you is big issue to someone else
English

why is it always Americans saying this without fail

Once you become an air conditioning society, you don’t go back. You stop rolling down car windows. Houses become sealed boxes. People move from cooled home to cooled car to cooled office to cooled store. Society goes indoors. Outdoor life becomes diminished.
It changes more than temperature.

Euros will do anything besides install air conditioning in their house
English

@Bills_gallery @PaulSkallas It's the same reason the southern US shuts down in an inch of snow. It's not worth all the equipment to deal with snow and ice for maybe 1 week a year if even that
English

@PaulSkallas In the UK it all boils down to cost.
We’re having 7 hot days in a row at the moment.
After that it could be cloudy with rain for weeks on end.
An average year gets 10 hot days.

@ChristianHeiens What's accomplished by a 4th attempt that's not accomplished by the 3rd if they're false flags
English

Current mood on Bluesky is a combination of rooting for a successful assassination attempt, while similtaneously arguing that it's a false flag being staged to justify building the new White House ballroom.

@montymarkland @RealTXPolitics I'm in a non-listed county (Johnson) and I haven't voted for Paxton yet because the election day location is more convenient for me than the early voting location. That's it. That's the big reason I haven't voted yet so it's kinds funny to judge early voting results
English

Nah, while EV/ED split is generally viewed through the lens of D v R, in this runoff early voters are definitely more likely to be Cornyn (see University Park / Highland Park returns), while Paxton voters are more likely to be more Election Day.
The chart also actually shows (if Election Day didn’t exist and there weren’t 254 counties in Texas) Cornyn losing 127,000 votes from the primary comp to Paxton losing 123,000 votes from the primary comp.
So, this oddly abbreviated list of counties shows Paxton running ahead of Cornyn in this subset of counties by 4,000 votes (ignoring Wesley Hunt).
So…
I don’t really see any actual utility in this chart.
And the chart ALSO doesn’t show what everyone thinks it shows if you actually run the numbers.
So why is this chart everywhere?
English

I think we underestimate the amount of voters who think that their primary vote automatically carries over to the runoff, and I’m hoping that doesn’t cause a Cornyn victory.
ThePersistence@ScottPresler
🚨ALERT🚨 🚨WARNING🚨 Low early voting turnout in Montgomery County, Texas. This county went +27🟨 Paxton in the primary. Unless you want John Cornyn to win, Paxton needs HUGE turnout on Election Day. CC: Conroe, The Woodlands

@Fat_Electrician It's pretty much the same complaints you'd get with any large industrial facility moving into your backyard but with the flavor of scary new robot technology. Many of the concerns start as legit and get hyped up into full on hysteria
English

@Skwerilleee I know there are issues with legal immigration but I think most of the problems people have with Hispanics comes from illegal immigration and its downstream effects all of which wouldn't happen if they weren't here in violation of our laws
English

One of the areas in which I differ quite a bit from a lot of folks on the right is the discourse on Mexican immigrants.
I think most of the hatred for Mexicans comes from a terminally online component of the right that lives in cities/suburbs and doesn't have much actual interaction with Mexican immigrants. Because boy, once you've worked a blue collar job or been to some cookouts with these guys, a lot of the arguments being used against them just seem completely ridiculous.
I work in the oilfield. A huge percentage of my coworkers and friends here are Mexican. These dudes are overwhelmingly Christian, super family oriented, incredibly hard working people. They go shooting or do rodeo on the weekends. They essentially personify all the values that the right champions. So it blows my mind that these guys specifically have somehow become the boogeyman to a large percentage of rightwing people, despite being aligned with them on almost everything.
In my experience they are solidly good and freedom loving people putting in a ton of honest work to build a good life for their families. They are honestly doing a better job of perpetuating the American dream than a lot of white folks....like I'd rather have 1000 of these dudes in my town than 1000 white communist blue hair types.
