Big shout out to the parents whose kids don’t get much playing time or spend most of the game on the bench. You still come to every game, cheer for the team, and support every player, even when your own child might not get any minutes. You’re teaching your kids what it means to show up, be part of a team, and put 'we' before 'me.' It takes real dedication and selflessness to be there all the time, and your example is helping your kids become strong and caring people. Thanks for showing what true team spirit looks like! Especially the parents from RMHS!

This is my proposal for C1 state tourney. -Top 32 teams make playoffs via NSAA PP -No Reseed, play it out -Single Elimination, have to win to get to state tourney - Decreases student classroom time missed -Should decrease costs for NSAA for extra games for officials #nebpreps

@tony_chapman76 @dosborne17 @livelincolnadam We use 27.5 in for 2-3rd and 26.5 in K-1st when we do all our skill work. 8 ft rims for K-1 and 9 ft for 2-3rd.

Coached a lot of youth girls hoops this month. Really watching the concerning trends of participation in our state. Have a lot of thoughts on “the model” and why girls are quitting. - No need for second or third grade basketball GAMES. Skill development? Yes. 3-on-3 leagues? Awesome. - In youth volleyball, guess who refs the games? The other players and coaches. Police themselves. In basketball, girls get knocked over for 5-6 years and decide it’s not worth it in high school. I get it. - More players would play if we played FEWER GAMES that were better officiated. Just a hunch. “Hey mom, that was fun, I didn’t spend the whole game on the ground.” - I KNOW we have an officials shortage. But we have to SHUT UP at games at the JV and high school varsity level. Only makes it worse. On the other side…. - JV officials if you are getting paid, call the first HAND CHECK. Just don’t allow it. Then girls won’t get knocked over for 32 minutes and you’ll get a breather while they shoot free throws. I have seen way too many gruesome injures at the JV level the last few years. - Coaches!! I get the game has turned physical because of the whistle. But we can teach our kids to play without fouling!! I watched Bennington and Norris (on my TV, sadly) on Friday. Same for Elkhorn Valley and Central City. You can play GREAT defense without fouling. Promise. Ok. That’s enough. If you are playing in a conference tournament this week go have fun. @tony_chapman76 @dosborne17 @livelincolnadam Can we add lower rims through 5th grade w/a smaller ball also? I would love to see 4v4 in 5th, w/6th being the 1st year w/5v5 & a women’s ball. We worked w/our YMCA to introduce a 3v3 league for K-3 this year. Skills, lower rims & smaller ball. Excited to hear how kids like it!

Would you host a Class D sub? We don’t have any subs at neutral venues anymore. None. Why? Schools don’t want to host except their own game. The state tournament doesn’t begin in sub-districts because: - you can lose, - and you are re-seeded again two more times. Respectfully, that’s not a tournament.

47 #nebpreps girls basketball district finals yesterday and today. - only 10 games contested under 10 points. - High seeds win in four of the six classes. - Only 3 “seed” upsets. We have watered down our district play so much to get the “best teams” to Lincoln it almost seems inconsequential anymore. Schools hate hosting, too. Maybe it’s time to eliminate teams from postseason play. Pick 8 and meet in Lincoln if that’s what the schools want.
