The biggest story of last year, and probably the biggest story of the coming year, is the widespread discovery of the fact that we have never been more accountable to government, which can see into our lives with unprecedented clarity and monitor our utterances to the word, while it has never been less accountable to us. On the verge of Artificial General Intelligence, so we're told, we still can't count votes, police billion dollar frauds, penetrate the chambers of elite decisionmaking, or figure out where much of our money is going and what's being done with it. This is the kind of crisis that undermines the basic legitimacy of nations and regimes. How we deal with it, or don't, will determine our fate.

I have appreciated your reporting on this, but as someone not from Des Moines, you don't know Jackie and the happenings at DMPS and the school board prior to Ian Roberts being arrested. Jackie isn't the far-left woke Democrat people are making her out to be. She wasn't leading the school board when Roberts was hired, and while I can't confirm this, several factors suggest she had reservations about his hiring and was less enthusiastic than other board members, despite ultimately voting yes. Jackie HAS been viscously attacked and threatened here locally. She doesn't deserve that and I don't wish that anxiety and fear upon anyone.

Des Moines school board chair Jackie Norris announced this morning she is dropping out of the U.S. Senate race, citing the need to focus fully on the fallout from the Ian Roberts controversy. In her statement, Norris casts herself as a victim, claiming that she and the broader community have been “in the crosshairs of vicious and coordinated attacks.” While there has been some baseless speculation about her motivations for supporting Roberts, I’ve seen nothing that fairly qualifies as “vicious attacks.” And there’s certainly no evidence of any coordinated effort among her critics. Most of what she’s faced has been legitimate criticism, and her characterization of the public’s response is an attempt to deflect accountability.

@DFedman @mo_free_nig @the_jefferymead I don't understand why dmb@ss ppl keep sharing dmb sht like this, thinking they'd make a winning point. All of these countries in red, from Iraq to Palestine to Morocco, are still dominated/owned by indigenous people. Not a single group has been replaced by another population.

I’ve been noticing a lot of hate towards Israel coming from the right. I’m curious as to why that is. If you’re on the right and hate or dislike Israel, can you comment below why? I want to understand where this hate is coming from and why people feel the way they do.

Many American Jews sharply disapprove of Israel’s conduct of the war in Gaza, with 61 percent saying Israel has committed war crimes and about 4 in 10 saying the country is guilty of genocide against the Palestinians, according to a Washington Post poll. wapo.st/4pTg07d

@LauraPowellEsq I live here, this board is so woke and crooked…. Jonathan Narcisse used to be on the school board, but died a few years ago, but he exposed how evil these people are they hated him for it.He was on talk radio all the time letting the public know what was going on behind the door

@mariolawrencejr @the_jefferymead What is your definition of Zionist? I ask because it seems to be anyone who believes in Israel's right to exist. I don't think many people understand how twisted Hamas is. Taqiyya allows for deception to further the annihilation of the Jews, not only the Jewish state.

I have no hatred toward Israel or Israeli People at all. I dislike the level of influence their lobbying groups have on our Congress and Politicians. And I find Zionism’s overrepresentation in key political positions MORE than concerning. I’m opposed to ethnocentrism in every sense of the word. Black Lives Matter, AIPAC, Patriot Front… every one of those racial/ethnocentric organizations are a cancer on humanity. And their members are cognitively incapable of seeing how they’re the problem. They don’t see how easy they are to manipulate. And how they are being manipulated.

I've been seeing the anti-israel stuff too, and I think part of it is people are taking the America first policy to an extreme where we're becoming more like isolationists. I don't think people are fully understanding that in order to be a safe and free country, we need to have some important allies, especially in areas like the Middle East. Personally, I think protecting Israel gives us a base in a very strategic part of the world and it gives us access to Mossad, who has such great intelligence worldwide that can help prevent terror attacks here in our own country. But I think ultimately a lot of it is driven by this sort of new social media push that Israel and the Jews control a lot more things than they actually do, and that's been an ongoing belief for probably thousands of years now. I'm not really sure how we combat it other than to just keep doing what we do as long as we can because there's definitely a lot of people that want to stop it. But I don't think they realize the amount of benefits we actually do get from Israel. Especially all the things that they create and build and advance, and all the intelligence they provide us.

The tragic assassination in Minnesota by a killer masquerading as a police officer illuminates why FBI agents and Secret Service tackled a screaming unidentified lunatic rushing DHS Secretary Noem. When in doubt the protectors of our government officials must take action.

Is being liked your goal? Have you considered that your Asperger’s plays a role in how you are perceived? Your need to perseverate on certain topics of interest has no off switch. You come off as obsessed and not a visionary. You in particular, (because you medicate with Ketamine to help you further disassociate) lean in so hard without care or concern for people if they get in the way of your agenda. When “empathy” is considered a liability in the thinking process, you have moved to sadism. I assure you, sadism isn’t a strategy. You put agenda over people and that’s why you’re not liked by many. You have a specific genius, yet you use it to fuel your ego and sense of self-worth and value. Dr Temple Grandin’s mother made a powerful statement to her when she was helping her daughter understand her Autism. “She told her she was different, not less.” You are different, but you are not less. You’re also not more. This may pain you to hear, but it’s the truth. Somebody needs to tell you this in a way that you can hear. It’s probably not me, but someone who really loves you should. There isn’t any ascension to the highest form of being. We are all flawed individuals in need of a heavenly savior. There is no fix to the human condition but God. You think you are key part to evolution and change. You are in this moment, being used as a key part to this world’s demise. Maybe that’s the goal. 🤔 People on the spectrum have a very special place in my heart. I’ve spent many years working with them to help them navigate this world better and to help me understand life through a different focal point. Typically, their paradigm is so much broader than many. Your paradigm was shaped in dominance and elitism. Your “By any means necessary” approach, isn’t to overcome some great injustice. It’s simply so that you can have your way. That’s not considered normal adult human behavior. It’s childish and deviant behavior at this age. People aren’t virus’s to be neutralized. We are complex beings comprised of a myriad of different experiences. Our responses to life are only a reflection of input received. Determine to do better and be better. Maybe you’ll get a different result. I sincerely hope this brings clarity. *Side note for you who will respond with hateful speech. I do not respond to fools. However, I’m always open to intelligent and thoughtful dialogue.

Trump critics say we are in a constitutional crisis. The White House says that’s hysterical. We decided to ask seven of the sharpest legal minds in the country from across the political spectrum—including a Bush White House lawyer, a progressive constitutional scholar, and a former federal judge—one simple question: Is the Trump administration acting lawlessly? What should we make of Trump’s legal strategy—if there indeed is a clear strategy? What stands out about this moment? Is this the usual clash between the courts and the executive branch? Or are we heading into uncharted waters? The consensus is striking—and perhaps surprising, given the ideological diversity of these contributors.
