@JackPosobiec How do you get out of bed in the morning, man. I mean, is it really worth it to demean yourself this way? Is it money? Hard to fathom that anyone would have so little self-respect.

Jack Goldsmith: "The President is Legally Barred from Waiving Iranian Sanctions as Pledged in the Iran MOU" 1. Federal law--namely, the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015--bars Donald Trump from immediately waiving sanctions against Iran. 2. Trump will probably violate the law and get away with it. 3. "It was unthinkable in 2015 that INARA would be deployed against a Republican president who sought in an agreement related to Iran’s nuclear program to waive sanctions against Iran. And before President Trump began his military action against Iran in February, it was unthinkable that he, a famous critic of the JCPOA, would be making such an agreement. But here we are." Pete Hamill on Breslin: “Jimmy had opinions, because he was a columnist, but they were always grounded in reporting, the kind of knowledge you can only get by talking to ordinary Americans, one at a time.” One at a time, that is the genius Hamill sees here.
John Grange@JMGrange

@BlueBoxDave The "ordinary American", as you, an individual coastal, partisan, journalist, decides to define it. Not to be confused with what random samples of Americans actually think about anything. Stick to the cigarettes.

Facts: Obama didn’t get rid of the Iranian leadership, didn’t lay a finger on their military assets but trusted them with a deal worth billion$. Trump got rid of the Iranian leadership, devastated their military and nuclear program and then started over with a diplomatic deal that will secure America’s future. This is how it is done. We’ve never had a President mixing military action and diplomacy so seamlessly.

Sorry I’m about to go all “old lady shakes fist at sky” but when I was starting out it was a normal expectation that even upper middle class kids who went to private school (me) would spend a number of years living on ramen and similar.

Really interested in this diagnosis: axios.com/2026/06/17/dem… “It's like, yeah, good job reading the polls that tell you that affordability is the number one issue. Do you understand why that is the case? It's because people can't f--king afford to eat, so of course that's their main issue," Lehrich told Axios” It is obviously not the case that the majority of voters who chose JLG literally cannot f—cking eat. So why does that feel like a true statement to a Democratic strategist?

Look it’s gotta be Brunson or Messier. Eli took down a king and Jeter was an emperor with those 5 rings. But an NBA championship after 53 years and scoring 45 in the clincher? A Stanley Cup after 54 years, down 3-2 in the ECF and guaranteeing a win? That’s balls by Messier. But then to go and get the hat trick? Unreal.

What a rotten deal we made with Iran. We get nothing (except laughter at our stupidity). They get everything, including delay and big cash!

@jpodhoretz Perfect. Also, there is a non-zero chance that when the Oil company CEO’s met with Trump last week and told him inventories were tapped out he made them agree to lower gas prices close to pre-war levels in exchange for doing this so-called deal.

This war was lost the second the decision was made to launch it. The only winning move was not to play it in the first place. Was there anyone in the room trying to explain this to Trump?

@greggnunziata The media has to take responsibility for enabling him to perpetuate the myth for fifty years. They knew the truth but he was good content and sold newspapers so they played along.

The president has never been a good negotiator, in public or private life. He paid somebody to write a book for him, claiming he had expertise in negotiation. He has no record of successful negotiation, certainly not as president.

The next time you hear JD Vance casually accuse his critics of unpatriotically spreading misinformation, remember that he described the *accurate* descriptions of the MOU as Iranian propaganda. He says what he needs to say in the moment without regard for the truth — or decency.
