13/09/25 Just back from a nice, relaxed weeks holiday in Norfolk, with plenty of memories and a good number of bird species seen. Very pleased to have observed the Black-winged Kite at Hickling Broads NWT. A UK lifer for us. Thanks Mum and Dad for changing your plans on Sunday.

A real highlight day today. A very early start put me on the Northern Waterthrush by 7.30am - one of those occasions when everything falls into place and you go home very happy. A double delight because this was my 400th UK tick. 13 years of great memories and good friends 🤗

Happy new year everyone. Been an up and down year bird wise due to other commitments. 8 ticks with Shetland being a really high point with a great crew on there. Birds of the year have to be Brown Booby, white’s Thrush and Snowy owl. Thrush photo courtesy of @mrvernondursley

Hi @MOTHIDUK , I've just flushed this huge moth onto the house whilst watering the garden in Branston, Staffs. It looked to have blue underwings in flight. Could it possibly be a Clifden Nonpareil? (Those bricks are 65mm deep).
