OH CANADA: 97.5% of Canadians have refused to comply with the government’s order to turn over their banned firearms. Soon authorities will go door to door to seize the weapons in their effort to disarm the nation’s citizenry.

I’m watching Falling Down for the first time since I originally saw it over 30 years ago. This movie has aged surprisingly well. Not only is it literally the embodiment of grand theft auto in terms of leveling up from weapons: from nothing, to baseball bat, to knife, to a bag of guns. Not only in terms of issues of domestic violence, where a wife could get a restraining order in the absence of any physical violence, but only in apprehension of perceived potential. But in terms of domestic issues of unemployment, gangs, veterans being neglected, mass immigration, drugs… Holy hell, this movie is something everyone needs to rewatch.

David Suzuki who owns multiple homes one on an island has made millions off of this grift. He wants politicians to prioritize the environment over the economy, ya easy for a multimillionaire to say. Look how unhinged he’s become.

All politics are at root theological WW2 and the Holocaust are regarded as pivotal historical events with good reason but they have fused with the civil rights era to create a pseudo-religion for modern America It is the only shared morality for a nation that has abandoned its true faith and like any heresy it has dangerous consequences These historical events have taken on a mythical nature to the point where few people have any knowledge of the history but only recognize the feelings those events are now meant to evoke Bad theology alway creates bad outcomes and our modern political theology is a disaster It’s always 1936, every opponent is Hitler, every skeptic is Chamberlain, every failure to act will result in a Holocaust This political theology has run its course, young people are exhausted by it and the foreigners that are imported to replace our population have no connection to the moral guilt it attempts to summon It’s time to stop doing this to ourselves These are just historical events, not spiritual archetypes meant to be evoked for the rest of our nation’s lifetime Enough is enough

Toronto’s City Council will vote today on a motion to launch a publicly run grocery chain. By all means, proceed—but it may quickly prove to be one of the best-worst ideas of the year in the name of food security. One city councillor even suggested that a family could save up to $10,000 a year on groceries. That implies roughly a 60% reduction in annual food costs—an assumption that is, frankly, detached from economic reality. Public retailing of food is costly, operationally complex, and rarely competitive. The result? Likely millions in added costs for Torontonians, with little evidence it will improve affordability in any meaningful or sustainable way.

Today, the Liberals voted down four Conservative justice bills. Every single one of these bills had a straightforward purpose: protect Canadians and respect victims. The Liberals said no to all of them. ❌ Consecutive sentences for sexual predators ❌ Deportation for serious crimes ❌ Ending annual parole hearings for murderers ❌ Jail Not Bail Act Violent crime is up 55% under the Liberals. This is their answer.

Working with the federal government, we’re keeping the dream of homeownership alive and keeping workers in our construction sector on the job. Find out more: news.ontario.ca/en/release/100…

With a March 31 deadline nearing, over 26,000 Canadians have enrolled in the "voluntary" gun grab, declaring 51,000+ weapons. Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree urges participation, noting compliance becomes mandatory after October 31 as part of "public safety" efforts.

Canadians now carry more debt than what our entire country's economy generates in a year. Half live paycheque to paycheque. 1 in 4 face food insecurity. There were 2.2 million visits to food banks in a single month. Life is getting more expensive and Canadians can't keep up. We need to take taxes off groceries and get government out of the way of economic growth, so hard work pays off with strong paycheques that buy more.

1. Reminder: Tim Hortons hasn't been a Canadian company in more than a decade -- it's owned by a Brazilian firm, 3G Capital. 2. To save a few dollars, 3G Capital brings in foreign nationals rather than hiring young Canadians. Canada's youth unemployment is 14%. So gross.

"Canada’s story gets even more depressing when only young people under 25 are counted. The country then falls to 71st, another new low. Young people were once, on average, the happiest Canadian cohort; now they’re the most miserable. And when compared to 136 countries, that 10-year drop in life satisfaction is one of the largest in the world, placing Canada just four slots from the bottom."
The Globe and Mail@globeandmail

In the country’s worst-ever showing in the 14 years that the report has been published, Canada ranked 25th out of 147 countries in the life-satisfaction standings. theglobeandmail.com/life/article-c…
