It gets worse. This weekend after seeing the video, a veteran criminal defense lawyer (with no cases in this guy’s civil court) wrote this judge an email telling the judge he needed to apologize. The judge responded by accusing the lawyer of making an ex parte communication and ordered him to appear next week under threat of contempt. I’m a member of the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association “Strike Force,” a group of several lawyers tasked with defending lawyers against judicial overreach at a moment’s notice. We’ll be there to make sure this judge does not try to jail a veteran lawyer just for exercising his First Amendment rights in criticizing an elected judge’s behavior.

BREAKING - A newly uncovered email shows the Texas judge who went viral for berating an IT worker, Nathan Milliron, abused his authority by attempting to force an attorney to appear in his court after the attorney sent an email asking the judge to apologize to the IT worker.

@TheCarolErskine @Rightanglenews I was literally thinking the same thing. There was no ex parte. Maybe he wanted the attorney to cc the Clerk of Court so he could be properly embarrassed.

"Subject-matter jurisdiction" for a court requires a pending "case or controversy." There is no pending case. As to "personal jurisdiction," Stafford is not a party to any action before the 215th District Court and reportedly has never appeared as counsel so no personal jurisdiction. The ex parte rule in judicial ethics as I know it, prohibits communications concerning the merits of a pending or impending proceeding. Without any such proceeding, the rule does not apply and cannot be used to obtain jurisdiction over an email. Just my opinion having been a judge for 20 years.

Story time. I worked at GameStop for 11 years, starting in 2007. My store manager was a 500 lb man. I called him Egg. Egg pretty much was the worst person I've ever met. He would schedule you during your mothers funeral and laugh about it. Anyway. The worst thing Egg did was leave the store at 1pm (and stay clocked in stealing time). He would go to his buddy's house and have sex with hookers. This was in rural Alabama so you can imagine the quality of hooker. He came back at 5pm to clock out. Eventually all the employees at the store including myself complained anonymously to upper management about it. A few weeks later our District Manager came to the store "have a talk with Egg." He told Egg that he can no longer leave the store and steal time. He wasn't fired because our store ranked so well in sales metrics.(pro cards, reserves, etc). Egg decided the best way to move forward was to BRING HOOKERS TO THE STORE. He would walk them in the front door, which children in the store, and go into the back room to proceed. Right next to our products in the store room. After a few weeks, we made another anonymous tip. The REGIONAL director came to the store this time to investigate. Luckily, all the security tapes had been erased by our DM and Egg. No more questions were asked. Egg was not fired(because he ranked so well in metrics). He continued to do this hooker nonsense. I was promoted to store manager soon after and leave to go to a different store. Egg worked at GameStop for another 10 years.

March 29, 2025. My 36-year-old baby girl passed away. She wasn’t feeling well for several weeks and we took her from Dr. to Dr. and they couldn’t find anything. She stayed with me March 28 because I’m a firefighter EMT and she knew daddy could help her if anything happened. I woke up in the morning, heard raspy breathing in the other room. I saw her and called her name and she wasn’t responsive and I had to do CPR on my own daughter. The ambulance arrived, shocked her with the AED several times. When my ex and my son-in-law and myself got to the hospital they told us we lost her. My heart is forever broken. I asked God that night to take me and let her live so she could live and raise her two boys, but he wasn’t making deals that night. 30+ years as a firefighter I was able to help and save so many people, but I couldn’t save my baby girl. I’m so sorry I failed you… everyone tells me I did everything I could. But I didn’t save you…it wasn’t enough…. we’re not supposed to outlive our children. I miss her so much every day, especially when I see my grandkids. It is so unfair. She did nothing wrong. God…. Please… tell me why??? I live with this pain every day. Please tell me why….. you are my daughter, my angel, my baby girl had my best friend friend friend. I miss you every day forever. Every daddy out there that has a baby girl. Please give them an extra hug. I would give anything to be in your shoes. 🥹😔💔🙏🏻
