EA-Drip, Rajo Kaaba & Sinnan are all projects SL gov is collaborating with the FAILED STATE. Words mean nothing if you are still willing to give your sovereignty for “Funding”. Under these projects SL is referred to as a “Federal Member State.” The lies continue…

Well put Sir! @Roblemuser has never shied away from asking what needs to be asked for the development of our country. In my experience with our institutions they have unnecessary overlaps that hinder progress and that needs to be addressed.
Roble Muse@Roblemuser

This short commentary explores 3 critical questions: 1. Can Somaliland convert its livestock & mineral wealth into real economic growth? 2. Are higher education, the national budget & development planning strategically aligned or working in silos? 3. What actions are needed?

@SprinterPress This is not accurate. The Port, Airport & base were part of the initial agreement with the UAE in 2015. Construction of the base was put on hold by the previous admin & there is no official documented agreement with any country for use of this facility for military purposes.

UAE is building a base for the USA and Israel in Somaliland According to the newspaper Le Monde, facilities are being constructed at the port of Berbera in Somaliland territory, which are presumed to be used as a military base by the United States of America and the United Arab Emirates. The edition highlights that Israel recognized Somaliland on December 26, 2025, which may be related to efforts to create a strategic foothold in the Gulf of Aden, near the coast of Yemen. The Houthi group is active in the region, having resumed military actions against Israel on March 28 and claiming there are threats to navigation in the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. Satellite images published in Le Monde indicate the expansion of Berbera airport, which was built in the 1970s.

@nuur1_nuur What happened to the agreement this institution had with @somalilandmfa ? Their instructors were here last yr at the @sidiamofa doing training for MFA employees. 👇🏾 It baffles me that they are taking lead on Red Sea dialogue while excluding SLD.

Today should be celebrated as the SNM National Day. As a product of a family who were part of the foundation of the movement I was taught their importance to the peace & stability we have in our country today. I pray that Allah grant those who lost their lives Jannah.

My university’s WhatsApp group has shown more urgency than the entire Arab League of 22 states. What’s fascinating is how quickly the Arab League can mobilize when it comes to condemning Somaliland’s recognition. A functioning, stable, democratic society seeking legitimacy and peace for its people suddenly became an emergency. Meetings…Statements…Rapid condemnation… even Institutional outrage! But when 10 Arab countries themselves come under missile and drone attack by the Islamic Iranian regime? Another carefully worded communiqué.
Another “call for de-escalation.”
Another performance of relevance. Soft whispers, no one felt a thing. So let me get this straight… Recognition of Somaliland was treated as a greater emergency than Arab capitals and infrastructure coming under direct attack? So no, we do not need you, and we will not fund ghost institutions that exist only on paper. The UAE has already proven it can lead, defend itself, and remain at the top of the world without deadweight structures dragging it down.

April 6, 1981, was a defining moment in the history of the Republic of Somaliland. The London declaration of the Somali National Movement (SNM) marked the beginning of a determined struggle against oppression, genocide, and injustice and the pursuit of dignity, freedom, and sovereignty. Today, we honor the courage and vision of its founders and the enduring legacy that continues to shape Somaliland.

Previous administrations ensured stronger representation of women in leadership & diplomacy, today, we don’t even have women serving as DGs, Sr. Advisors let alone Ambassadors which we had. This is not progress considering women account for more than 50% of voters in SL. 2/2

As the region advances conversations on women in diplomacy, Somaliland should also prioritize female representation in leadership and foreign affairs. Currently, we only have 1 woman in Parliament, 2 Ministers & no Vice Ministers or women in Foreign Affairs. 1/2

Institute of Foreign Affairs - IFA
During the Q&A session @ifa_ethiopia SABA TALK, participants reflected on the role of women in conflict, leadership, and societal transformation. 🔷 Women in conflict areas. Women, often the most vulnerable in conflict settings, must be empowered to actively engage in peacebuilding, community dialogue, and advocacy for protection and inclusion while strengthening their resilience through access to resources and support systems. 🔷 Women in leadership. In Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa, women should take on active leadership roles in diplomacy, governance, and community development—contributing to decision-making, leading negotiations, and shaping policies for peace and stability. 🔷 Key interventions for empowerment. Elevating women’s roles requires expanding access to education and leadership opportunities, building strong networks, and fostering inclusive policies and societal attitudes that support gender equality. #WomenInDiplomacy #SABATalk #Leadership #IFA

@nuur1_nuur @yasin1449 @CAAA_SL Check your passport & note what you see. Then compare it with countries you’ve visited that offer visa on arrival, ETA, or embassy-issued visas. This is where our failure to control our airspace and other systems begins. Where is the visa with "30 day Validity " ??

@nuur1_nuur @yasin1449 @CAAA_SL Absolutely! Here is something that may have set us up for failure from the beginning, our gov says "visa on arrival" right? But look at what is stamped on your passport is it a visa with a "30 day validity" or an entry/exit stamp? Now ask yourself why our gov taking $60 for stamp?

Yes, but. The crucial point is not just the entry requirements fly Dubai, but the entire legality of the fact that Somalia has no legal authority or jurisdiction in Somaliland whether regarding the e-visa or other requirements. Somalia Violates the sovereignty of a foreign State; the same thing, gilded for Ethiopia, says, "I give orders to Kenya."

This conversation is not only timely it’s crucial to understand why our institutions remain stagnant instead of moving forward. Is our system flawed? Are we headed towards a 4.5 system of governance? What happened to meritocracy? What role does representation play in appointments?
Hargeisa Debates@HargeisaDebates

We’re bringing together leading voices to challenge how political appointments are made in Somaliland. Join us for a timely discussion on why competence, not connections must shape institutional leadership. Be part of the conversation on March 27 at Hargeisa Debates.

Our desperation opened doors for "Somalian" banks to infiltrate our need to trade w/the world. They thought if they continue this economic warfare against us we would give up and join them. For me access to financial systems means more than recognition, it means freedom! 2/2

For over 35 years SLD was under a financial "embargo" imposed by the world simply because we didn't want to be associated with a failed state. The embargo ensured that we didn't have access to any financial systems cutting us off FDI or any development funding. 1/2

Historic moment: @RepJohnRose has introduced the Somaliland Economic Access and Opportunity Act in Congress. Thank you, Congressman Rose and cosponsors @PatHarriganNC and @AndyOgles, for recognizing that Somaliland's financial inclusion serves both our nations' economic and security interests. This is meaningful progress. What is the Somaliland Economic Access and Opportunity Act, introduced today by @RepJohnRose? Here's what this legislation does and why it matters for U.S.-Somaliland relations. The bill acknowledges a critical challenge: Somaliland faces significant barriers accessing U.S. and international financial systems– affecting consumer banking, trade, counterterrorism, and anti-money laundering efforts. These barriers impact our 6.2 million citizens and limit economic cooperation with strategic partners. The legislation directs the Treasury Secretary to submit a comprehensive report to Congress within 180 days analyzing: • Legal and regulatory barriers to financial access, including the SWIFT payment system • Compliance with international AML/CTF standards • Steps Somaliland can take to enhance transparency • How the U.S. can facilitate responsible financial engagement. Why this matters: The bill recognizes Somaliland's strategic position in the Horn of Africa and finds that "enhanced financial access, conducted under appropriate compliance safeguards, would serve to strengthen U.S. policy objectives in the region.” This is how security partnerships advance – through transparency, compliance, and mutual interest. Thank you again to @RepJohnRose and cosponsors @PatHarriganNC and @AndyOgles for this important step forward.
